Pelton make sure of Runners Up spot

In the premier Division goals from Mickle, Middlemas and a Double for Kerry gave Pelton Roab a 4-2 away win at Chester’s, a surprise result saw Washington Chevies win 4-2 at Sedgefield st Edmunds , St Edmunds went in 3-0 down at half time. Two second half goals by Shepherd and Smith were not enough to get St Eds back in the game and Chevys won 4 -2,In blustery conditions, Newton Aycliffe Wmc traveled to Kelloe Wmc, Aycliffe played with the wind in the 1st half but very rarely troubled Morris in Kelloe goal. Kelloe wasted some good half chances and were made to rue those missed chances when Clough got caught in possession and the aycliffe no 9 clinically finished. After the break kelloe dominated but aycliffe were dangerous on the break and they hit the post through wood. Kelloe equalized when megran headed in a turton cross. Kelloe pushed but couldn't find a winner, final score 1-1.

In the First Division Chilton Wmc entertained Washington Cross Keys ,Joe cornbill scored early in the game for Chilton. keys equalized after half time then late on in the game joe cornbill fed a pass through to sub dayle Taylor who scored the winner for Chilton to win 2-1.Sedgefield Social won 4-3 at Hilda Park and Burnside lost 4-0 at Sacriston Cricket Club,.

In the second Division Houghton Chilton Lodge took the lead after 20 mins against visitors East Rainton Fc, when a long throw was headed in by Graham Colledge. After 40 mins 'Chilton’s' keeper Graham Defty kept his side in the lead by saving a penalty. Rainton were not to be denied however and they equalized a minute before half time when they headed in a corner. In the second half Rain ton took the game by the scruff of the neck by scoring three times in nine minutes, all crosses that were turned in to make it 4-1. A depleted Chilton side hit back however when Iain McPherson scored with a 25 yard shot after 80 mins, a minute later Gavin Tate turned in a free kick and with two mins to go the comeback was complete when David Firth headed home a cross to make it 4-4. Increditably Rainton hit back straight from the kick off when (one of their players) ran straight through the Chilton defense evading three tackles to shoot home in the last Minute and win the game 5-4, Ferryhill Saints won 3-1 at Durham Bede Lodge.New Durham hit Shadforth Plough for 10...in a one sided game

In the Third Division Pelaw Grange Dogs entertained Chester Red Lion , the Dogs went into the game needing a win to seal the league title. Pelaw struggled to get their passing going in the first half and both teams threatened mainly from long range. Pelaw got the breakthrough when sub Mark Lyall converted from close range as the ball broke across the face of the goal. Pelaw went 2-0 up when David Henderson was fouled in the box and Neil Worley stepped up to continue his 100% strike rate from the spot this season, slotting the ball calmly into the bottom corner. The Red Lion then went at Pelaw to try and salvage something from the game but there was little time left, and it finished 2-0 as Pelaw made it 13 wins on the trot to finish the season as champions. In a very scrappy game at Pelton were the Bird Inn entertained Pittington Fc ,It was a very scrappy game in poor conditions, pittington missed a hat full of chances before the bird in scored an dubious goal, the second came from a lucky bounce hitting a divot and bouncing over the keeper, there 3rd came from a daft penalty decision, in the second half pittington continued the pressure and pulled 2 goals back, but with 2 sending offs 1 for each side the game got even more scrappy, Final score 3-2 to the Bird Inn. New Brancepeth wmc and Chester Cricket Club drew 0-0 at New Brancepeth.

In the 4^th Division a good win home from Langley park Rams Head against Pity Me, which won them the league. Langley much better side all game and would of been more if not for pity me keeper who made well over 10 good saves. Goals from Steven mickle, Steven Cummings and Tony Rutter in first half got Langley going and Langley finished game of in last 5 minutes with a fine volley from Steven Cummings, Rams Head winning 4-0.

Sunday 15^th

In the Premier Division This game between Kelloe and Washington JFC was played in gale force wind, sunshine, and hailstones all in 90 minutes. Kelloe deserved there first half lead of 2-0 the 1st after a good move down the left saw there winger pass direct to the inside forward for a tap in, the second 1/2 min B4 h/t was a well taken header at the far post after a good move down the right. The 2nd half saw WJFC play some great football and with the wind assisting had Kelloe under pressure from the kick off, however as hard as they tried they just couldn’t find a goal, several chances made but not converted, then with 6 mins remaining Grainger hammered a header from a corner hitting the underside of the bar on its way in. 2-1 Kelloe it remained the same until the final whistle WJFC attacking looking for that equaliser but Kelloe defended well and came out the 2-1 victors. Hard fought game settled with 1st half goal for Pelton. St Eds hit bar and post but failed to score.Final score 1-0 to Pelton Roab. Newton Aycliffe wmc Attacked from the start with visitors Langley Park Steelers replying on the break. All of the goals came in the last 25 minutes with Mason & Owen scoring for Aycliffe before Dawson pulled one back for Steelers. Late goals by Brischuk & Mason secured all three points for Aycliffe.Brandon Sports entertained Washington Chevies, game in which Chevvy's showed a lot of commitment and fight and had that been the case all season you wonder if they would be in the position they are in now. However, Brandon played some good football, created many chances and scored 4 well created goals.Hetton Lyons Cricket Club travelled to Langley Park Wmc Craig Price opened the Scoring for The Lyons in the 16th minute with a strike from 30 yards giving the keeper no chance and Price had a great chance for his second goal in the 39th minute, Proctor was fouled in the penalty area and from the spot kick his shot went wide of the goal.Second half and Davis had a glorious chance to score but his shot was well saved from the Langley goalkeeper. Luke Proctor scored in the 51st minute when he beat the offside trap and rounded the keeper to score 0-2. Langley park weren't out of the game but had little to offer in front of goal and the Lyons went three up in the 74th minute, Kyle Davis won the ball in midfield and squared it to Bell and his inch perfect pass found Davis at the front of the goal to score 0-3. Luke Proctor got his well deserved second goal with minutes to go ,a beautiful ball put through from Craggs and proctor placed it past the goalkeeper 0-4.

In the First Division Houghton Mill All Stars' completed their division one fixtures in exactly the same way as they started - by losing five games in a row! Fortunately they managed to tot up enough points in the intervening twelve games to keep out of the relegation zone and maintain their division one status.Premier League bound Coxhoe WMC were 2-1 winners in Mill's final game albeit in controversial circumstances. After fifteen minutes Coxhoe were awarded a penalty kick when Mill's Alistair Dodds was adjudged to have fouled a Coxhoe forward. Dodds protested his innocence after what appeared to be a good tackle - fortunately for Mill, keeper Dan Pearson made a splendid save from Adam Strong to keep the game goalless.However, Strong opened the scoring ten minutes later when he knocked in a low level cross from practically on the goal line. Mill were again unhappy as he appeared to be well offside. Paul Broom doubled Coxhoe's lead on thirty five minutes.
Mill's goal came on seventy eight minutes when a long ball from Mill's half was met by Shaun Corner who ran at Coxhoe's goal and side footed past advancing keeper Adam Mcdonald. There was some nailbiting moments for Coxhoe in the dying moments as Mill came close to an equaliser but the home side managed to hang on for the three points.Mill keeper Dan Pearson was their man of the match after he pulled off a number of quality saves. Coxhoe's Adam Strong was their star man.Sedgefield Social travelled to Sacriston Cricket Club, Sacriston started the game really well and went 1-0 ahead after 6 minutes when excellent work by Yates won us a free kick down the right hand side. James Thornton swung in a good free kick towards the far post and without a touch from anybody else the ball ended up in the corner of the net.Then the game got a bit scrappy and we just couldn’t get our passing game going and Sedgefield got level when Marc Bladen was adjudged to have committed a foul in the box although he clearly got the ball. The Sedgefield player placed his spot kick well into the bottom left hand corner of the net to make the score 1-1.Sedgefield nearly went ahead on 20 minutes when a cross came into our box and the Sedgefield forward got a looping glancing header on to the ball which rebounded of our post. Then a minute later Ward went close with a shot from 20 yards out which went just wide and into the side netting. Yates then went close with a header from James Thornton’s volleyed cross.Sacriston had very little height in central midfield and this was causing the team to lose out getting enough of the ball Sedgefield had played well once they had equalized and but for a great headed on possession and although we still looked dangerous when we went forward we were not clearance from Collinson on the near post following a Sedgefield header for a corner we would have been going in 2-1 down at half time.Within 20 seconds of the restart we had re-taken the lead when a long kick up field was flicked on by the head of Ward and Collinson challenged the on rushing Sedgefield keeper and got his head to the ball just before him and the ball went into the net via the right hand post. This settled the team down and within the next 20 minutes we made the game safe by scoring two more goals both scored by Yates and assisted by Collinson while playing our best football of the game. For the first goal Collinson played a little pass in the inside left channel and Yates pace beat the offside trap and he found himself with lots of time one on one with the keeper and he finished well with a side foot shot into the bottom right hand corner. Yates second goal came from a Collinson through ball down the centre and Yates didn’t even take a touch this time and his first time shot flew into the bottom left corner of the net to make it 4-1.Straughair came on for the excellent Ward and Appleby came on for his debut at centre half in place of O’Brien. We did ease off a little bit towards the end and Sedgefield got a goal back with 4 minutes to go when a long diagonal pass ended up in our right back position and despite the best efforts of Bladen with a last ditch tackle the Sedgefield player got in and hammered a shot into the net. Chilton took the lead with a Nicky Pickford penalty after 20 mins. After the break sub Michael searby scored twice and David Maugham scored 1 to make the final score 4 0With loads missing Sedgefield NET Park travelled to Chilton still needing a point to guarantee their first division status. The start was a bit scrappy with both teams struggling to get going. On 20mins Chilton were awarded a dubious penalty with the Chilton player going down too easily, he finished the penalty well, h/t 1-0. Second half and NET Park had a few struggling and with only one already injured player to come on from the bench, Chilton had a choice from five players which in the end was the deciding factor with their sub coming on upfront and having the legs to do the damage with two goals, final score 4-0.

In the Second Division Ferryhill Saints took the lead after 20 mins at Houghton Chilton Lodge, when the Chilton defence were unable to clear the ball, after two attempts the ball fell to one of Chester Plough Inn hosted league champions New Durham wmc and they game ended in a 1-1 draw. Chester Plough took the lead in the 20th minute with a fine strike from Mark Atchison following some good work from Hill and Cooper. New Durham wmc had the opportunity to equalise on the half hour mark when they were awarded a penalty but Ward put his shot well wide. Chester Plough had a perfectly good goal ruled out for offside despite being clearly onside. New Durham equalised through Graeme Brenkley midway through the second half. Both sides had opportunities to win it but a draw was a fair result F/T 1-1

In the Third Division Bowburn started badly in the Home game against New Brancepeth Wmc and went 1-0 down through a deflected goal but then got into the game creating the most chances but slack marking saw a nicely put shot into the far corner of Bowburns net with the defenders not closing down Bowburn once again come forward and got what they deserved a goal through jack Carr but minutes later New Brancepeth scored again making it 3-1 and not long after to make it 4 nd there could have been more Bowburn were to pay for there missed chances final score 1-4. Pelaw Grange Dogs should of went ahead early in the game with Chris Hawkins given loads of space up front and had two one on ones with the keeper. however after 15 minutes having Chris Hawkins delaying his shot the ball came back out to Chris Gosnell who crossed the ball into the box to find Anthony Nicholson at the far post to nod it home. The game was very scrappy but in the second half Pelaw Grange Dogs went ahead further with a great strike from Chris Hawkins after a cross coming in from Dave Henderson and then after Chris Harvey switched to the centre when Mark Lyall came on he made it 3 nil after a Mark first touch was a cross into the box for him to tap it home past the keeper. Pelaws next game is at home to Chester Red Lion on the 29th.

In the Fourth Division Washington Honest Boy were convincing winners 5-2 away winners at Quarrington Hill Wmc.

In the Fourth Division A pretty dour end of season game at Witton Gilbert Wmc and Visitors the Lambton Hounds, exploded into life mid way through the second half when Pity Me deservedly took a 2 goal lead mainly down to errors in the Witton defence. The exception being David Metherell who was outstanding throughout. There seemed no way back for Witton until 5 minutes from time when the Pity Me keeper gave away a needless penalty which was clinicall despatched by Scott Embleton. Witton then threw everything at Pity Me who seemed to panic and substitute James Booth equalised in the last minute to take a share of the points. Quarrington Hill Wmc last game of the season at home to Washington Honest Boy, and all looked well when they took the lead after 11 minutes through Jeff Dean. However 6 minutes of madness saw them concede 3 goals as Honest Boy dominated first half. Second half Q hill eere much better, working hard to get back into the game and it was against the run of play when Washington got thier fourth. Jeff Dean hit a late contender for goal of the season on 86 minutes, but the impressive Honest Boy secured a deserved win with a fifth on 88 mins. Q hill Mom Jeff Dean. Pity Me Lambton Hounds entratained Wittin Gilbert Wmc , game where pity me dominated for large periods of the game. It wasn't until the second half when the deadlock was broken, a cross from the right came in perfectly for Andrew cough to guide in from close range. It didn't take long for pity me to get a second Andrew cough chased down a lost cause and smash it in the bottom corner from a tight angle. Pity me defended well but in to the last 10 mins of the game with no substitutes on the bench tired legs got the best of them and witton were able to get two goals back, the first a penalty and the second a scuffed shot that took a bobble

Tuesday 17^th

In the Premier League Hetton Lyons Cricket Club Travelled to Pelton to play the Buffs.Pelton had an early chance in the 6th minute hitting the outside of the post but it was the Lyons that kept the Pelton goalkeeper and the defence busy. Kyle Davis almost broke the deadlock in the 24th minute with an excellent shot across the keeper but his save matched the shot.The Lyons went a goal up in the 31st minute, Bell playing in the right back role knocked a ball to Hodgson and his pass for Davis to run on to and his shot as sweet as a nut gave the keeper no chance 0-1 and a really good goal. Minutes later Steven Stewart almost scored but the keeper once again denied him. Davis got his second goal a minute before have time Price placed a ball between the defenders Davis well on side raced on to the ball and calmly knocked it passed the advancing keeper 0-2.The Lyons kept the pressure on in the second half and Canavan saw his header from a corner smashed against the cross bar. The Lyons put the game out of reach in the 67th minute Graydon worked hard to keep the ball in play and Hodgson who was always on the prowl thoroughly deserved his goal 0-3. Pelton had a free kick outside the box which the Lyons defence cleared but that was their only threat in the second half. Pelton RAOB 0 -3 Hetton Lyons CC. Langley Park Wmc entertained Sedgefield st Edmunds, It was 0-0 at half time.2 second half goals from Martin Bowes and Ben Smith to win the game for St Edmunds. Brandon Sports were at Newton Aycliffe Wmc, In a Competitive game played in good spirit and well referreed.Brandon took the lead from a long through finished by Paul Eilles, but it was Aycliffe that dominated possession throughout most of the game. Brandon defended superb and although Aycliffe grabbed A sixtieth minute equaliser from Brischuk, on chances the draw was maybe a fair result as either team could have taken the points. Final score 1-1.

In the second Division Ferryhill Saints were 7-0 home winners over Shadforth Plough Inn.

Thursday 19^th

In the Premier Division Hetton Lyons Cricket Club were 5-0 home winners over Newton Aycliffe Wmc goals from Byrne (2) Walton Price and Davis, Kelloe Wmc won 5-1 at Langley Park Steelers.

In the second Division New Durham Wmc entertained a depleted Houghton Chilton Lodge, it was a great performance from New Durham who hit the lodge for 6,on a wet and windy night New Durham dominated from start to finish goals from Brenkley 2 Barrowclough 2 Marley 2.Ferryhill Saints beat visitors Durham Bede Lodge 3-2.

Sunday 22^nd

In the Premier Division Seddgefield st Edmunds travelled to Hetton Lyons Cricket Club. Hetton Lyons came from a goal down to clinch the Premiership League. The Lyons had more of the share of chances in the first half but failed to take any of them. In the 44th minute Sedgefield took the lead, with the Lyons defence failing to clear the ball and Smith from close range gave the Lyons keeper no chance 0-1.Second half and Davis saw his shot go over the cross bar and the Lyons were struggling to hit the target. Substitute Billy Gruelich-smith was introduced just after the hour mark and made an instant impact, a corner from the left Sedgefield partially cleared it and Smith hit it giving the keeper no chance 1-1. Two minutes later and good work down the left from Steve Capper and he crossed to Kyle Davis and his shot was a peach for the Lyons to go 2-1 up. Hetton needed another goal and in the 75th minute a corner from Craggs and Nicky Kane headed the Ball home 3-1. Washington JFC were the Guests of Houghton Comrades, A good game end to end stuff, with the home team shading the first half, it took a deflected shot from 25yds to give Comrades their 1-0 lead at the break. The 2nd half was a totally different afare with wjfc attacking from the off, they created 7 great chances but ended up scoring a 30 yarder, Comrades ended up 3-1 winners after catching wjfc on the break twice, at the end of the game the Comrades manager said wjfc should have won 5-3, well done to Comrades.Brandon Sports had Kelloe as visitors Today Typical end of season game, both sides with nothing to play for and struggling to field a team. Brandon battled well but Kelloe with the stronger team created more chances and deseveredly won the game.3-0.
In the Second Division Houghton Chilton Lodge entertained Durham Bede Lodge, after a goalless first half Chilton Lodge took the lead early in the second when Ryan Mather rounded the Bede Lodge keeper to score. After 65 mins Chilton went further ahead when a free kick was squared to Tim Murray to shoot home. Chilton though were made to rue a series of missed chances when after 78 mins Durham pulled one back after a Chilton defender completely miss kicked the ball which went through to a Bede Lodge player who made no mistake from inside the box. Then with 5 mins to go a cross into the box was misjudged by the Chilton goalie who fumbled the ball into the net for Bede Lodge's equaliser. The score remained unchanged despite Chilton having a two on one advantage which they contrived to miss the target in the last minute. The point however ensured they remain in division two for next season. Chester Plough Inn entertained Sherburn Lambton Arms in a cracking end of season promotion battle. Sherburn took the lead after ten minutes when Michael Curl turned a cross into his own goal. The Plough equalised when Mark Atchison took advantage of a goalkeeping error. The home side took the lead early in the second half with a 25 yard wonder strike from Chris Cuthbertson. Sherburn equalised late on following a defensive error. Both sides had great chances to win it in the dying minutes. F/T 2-2.Washington Lambton Village Travelled to New Durham Wmc , Washington came to defend which they did well first half and led at half time 1-0. But second half Durham started to get in behind there defence and were rewarded with 4 second half goals Brinkley grabbing his hatrick and one from Edwards

In the Third Division A end of season game for Bowburn saw them make changes for the home game against Chester Cricket Club, but go through the motions and a goal for top scorer Jack Carr was the only bright point but credit to Chester cricket club who came with a positive attitude and were rewarded with four goals despite one been a penalty and a deflected goal a well deserved victory for the away team final score 1-4. Framwellgate Moor Wmc club turned up with 10 men to face a strong Dubmire team. Dubmire took an early lead after 5 mins and despite a superb defensive performance from Framwellgate Moor Wmc; Dubmire took a second goal before half time. Fram came out second half all guns blazing with a new partnership of fields and Ormiston bossing the middle of the pitch and a top draw corner from Hessy ked set the leagues real top scorer smithy for his first. Dunmire started to play some nice football passing the ball about and scored another 2 goas before smithy scored his second ov the game. Dunmires passing now had frames 10 men running in quicksand final score 2-7 despite a hard worked game from fram

In the Fourth Division Langley Park Rams Head kept the league title ambitions alive with a battling performance. Michael Watson scored after 30minutes with a long range free kick and somehow went under the keeper. Langley pressed and some fine goalkeeping kept score at 1-0 second half and Langley could not break down a stubborn tavern defence, tavern then went to draw level threw a penalty, and then Langley kept attacking and finally went in front with Steven Mickle converting a penalty

After a strong start by Pelton it was Ferryhill Saints who took the lead after twenty six minutes with a great Gillyat strike from the edge of the box following a poor Pelton clearance. Despite the heroic efforts of Ferryhill keeper Race Pelton stormed into a 4-1 lead. The equalizer came just before half time, great work between Graver and Freeman created the opening for Drummond to tap in. A brace of Kerry goals and great headed goal from Davison put Pelton in the driving seat. However to their credit Ferryhill did not give up and with fifteen minutes remaining gave Pelton a wakeup call when Todd scrambled the ball home to make it 4-2. Pelton responded strongly with a brace of goals from substitute Ritchie to make the final score 6-2.

Tuesday 3^rd April

In the premier Division Chester’s maintained their recent run of form winning 5-3 at home to Newton Aycliffe wmc, Pelton ROAB won 1-0 against visitors Kelloe Wmc.Hetton Lyons Cricket Club were 2-0 winners at Washington Chevies.In the Fourth Division Washington New Tavern traveled to Witton Gilbert Wmc Both sides sharing the points in a 0-0 draw.

Thursday 5^th April

In the Premier Division Hetton were 4-0 home winners over Pelton Roab,with Two goals from Warren Byrne, and one each for Nicky Kane and Billy Greulich,In the First Division Sacriston Wmc won 3-1 at Chester Hilda Park, the Cricketers from Sacriston entertained Washington Cross Keys, The Cricketers defense were excellent throughout ,O’Brien and Mellor were dominant in the air and Frazer controlled the game masterfully while also setting up many attacks with some excellent long range passing out of defence.Youldon on his return to the team put in a dazzling display. He tormented the Washington defense with his running ability and skill on the ball and more often than not picked out the right pass. On 22 minutes Cricketers took the lead when Youldon made a brilliant run into the box and he squared the ball to Collinson who had his shot well saved again but this time the rebound fell to Yates and he finished superbly to make it 1-0.On 30 minutes Yates doubled the lead when James Thornton played the perfect pass into his path and he took one touch before steadying himself and then passing the ball into the bottom left corner. Then just before half time Yates looked to have completed his hat trick when after Grant Boyd had done some sterling work in tackling the Washington defender and then dribbling the ball around the out rushing goalkeeper and shooting the ball towards the empty net, Yates ran from behind him to give the ball a helping touch over the line. The referee gave offside. The Cricketers finally made the game safe on 64 minutes when Gary Draper brilliantly headed home Michael Frazer’s free kick who looked a bit like a girl in his new orange boots into the top corner. With the game getting stretched later on Marc Bladen was starting to get lots more room down the right hand side and the biggest cheer of the night came on 66 minutes when he got his first goal of the season. Youldon did brilliantly in the left hand corner to rob the Washington right back of the ball and he played a brilliant 60 yard cross field pass into Bladen’s path who ran forward with the ball before cutting on to his left foot where his powerful shot took a wicked deflection of the Washington defender and went into the top left hand corner of the net. Then on 69 minutes after some good play again down the right hand side Gary Draper beat 2 defenders before crossing the ball into the middle where Ward had made a good centre forwards run to earn himself a nice tap in’ Starughair came on for the last 15 minutes or so replacing Thornton who did well again tonight. Youldon spent the last 15 minutes trying to get a goal to cap his performance but he couldn’t get one although he did come close from a free kick which was turned round the post for a corner by the keeper. Final score 5-0 to the Cricketers. In the Third Division Ferryhill Saints were 3-2 home winners over Sherburn Lambton Arms. Houghton Chilton Lodge entertained New Durham Wmc, After missing a host of chances throughout Houghton Chilton Lodge were made to pay by high fliers New Durham WMC who scored with two set piece headers in the 20th and 65th minutes, and with Chilton pressing they were caught on the break with five minutes to go when New Durham completed the scoring for a 3-0 win.

Friday 6^th April 10

Bishop Auckland Heart Foundation Cup Final. Today’s crowd was in excess of 200 and the total raised for Heart Foundation Charity this year will be in excess of £1000, as two Premier League sides were ready to do battle, Sedgefield St Edmunds and Brandon Sports were both ready for the 12 o’clock kick off. Full Time Brandon 2-1 St Eds (aet) Brandon deserved the win as they created more and were guilty of missing some easy chances.St Eds came close within the last 5mins but too little too late, decent game.

Sunday 8^th April

The Big Game in the Premier Division was the Washington Derby between the Home side Washington JFC and visitors Washington Chevies, The first half was a 50/50 affair with no goals to shout about a fair result at H/T. WJFC had most of the play at the start of the 2nd half and this paid dividends when from a free kick Stephenson’s ball beat everyone allowing "Joni The Ghost Hewitt" to pop up at the far post and slam the ball into the net off the underside of the bar 1-0 JFC, after that Chevy’s got back into the game and with 3 mins to go were awarded a penalty for handball, Morrell stepped up to the plate and scored sending Smith the wrong way F/T 1-1 a fair result.Kelloe Wmc entertained the inform Chester’s. It was Kelloe who took the lead after 21 seconds when Barton ran onto his own through ball to calmly slot home. Chester’s equalized when the striker finished well. Kelloe hit the post through jury and the bar through Turton but it was all square at half time. Chester’s went 4-1 up, then Soppitt pulled a goal back with a delightful lob but Chester’s made the game safe with a late penalty, final score 5-2 to chesters.2nd half goals from Andrew Beamson and Mark Ferguson gave St Edmunds a well deserved 2-2 draw. In the First Division Sedgefield NET Park were visitors to Sacriston Wmc, Sacriston With 9 missing, and no goalkeeper it was always going to be difficult, it was Net park who took a deserved lead on 35mins through Martin Musgrave's clinical finish, Martin Broom making it 2-0 after a long kick from Sedgwick bounced over the Sacriston defender leaving Martin to header over a hesitant goalkeeper and into the empty net, H/T. On 50mins the prolific Renwick pulled a goal back after some sloppy defending by NET Park 1-2. Martin Lower made it 1-3 from a header. Again Renwick pulled one back 2-3 but within a minute NET Park scored after a great move was finished by Chris Barber 2-4 then Martin Lower added his second 2-5. With 20mins left Dan Pilling finished well to make it 2-6. NET Park made two changes and took their foot off the gas a little allowing Sacriston to score 2 lates goals to make the scoreline a little respectable. A fully deserved 3pts for NET Park. Sam Renwick scoring 4 goals for Sacriston, Coxhoe wmc were 7-0 home winners over Burnside Wmc, Sacriston Cricket Club were 5-1 winners at Bottom club Chester Hilda Park and Giles gate Moor Queens Head and visitors Chilton Wmc shared the points in a 0-0 draw.

In the second Division Chilton Lodge traveled to Ushaw Moor to play the Cricket Club,After a goalless first half Shaun Smith opened the scoring for 'Chilton' with a pass come shot after 60 mins, then five minutes later Iain McPherson scored from close range. McPherson then finished off the goal of the game which involved beautiful link up play between Keiron Hughes and Craig Johnston before being volleyed home. Ushaw Moor CC battled back to hit the post after 80 mins but to no avail for 'Chilton' to register a 3-0 victory, New Durham wmc traveled to Shadforth Plough Inn, New Durham led 1-0 at half time through a Brenkley goal. second half Durham scored a further 2 goals from parker, and Andrew Chester, Chester Plough Inn made the trip to Bede Lodge and returned with all 3 points. The Plough took a 4 goal lead thanks to Dean Cooper, Ben Lloyd, Nathan Baddams and Gary McIlduff. Bede Lodge pulled 2 goals back but Gavin Prudhoe sealed the win F/T 2-5.

In the Third Division Lumley Fc lost 4-0 at Bowburn Fc, Dubmire Wmc were 3-2 home winners over West Rainton Fc and New Brancepeth won 5-2 at the Bird Inn.

In the Fourth Division Witton Gilbert Wmc traveled to Pity Me it was not a very exciting game at all, both teams were poor and neither team really looked like scoring. The first goal and third goal came from a free kick and the second was the result of a mistake by the pity me goalkeeper as he dropped the ball at the strikers feet. All 3 goals came in the first 20 minutes following that the game seemed to phase out. Burnmoor Jnrs and visitors the Honest Boy shared the points in a 3-3 draw. Washington Jays and The Rams Head also shared the points in a 3-3 draw. Kelloe Davy Lamp drew 2-2 at Ferryhill Dynamo’s.

In the Premier Division Chester le Street Chester’s entertained Hetton Lyons Cricket Club, It was Michael Canavan who opened the scoring for the Lyons in the 18th minute with a header at the far post from a corner, Chester equalized in the 25th minute with a well taken goal and 2 minutes before half time Warren Byrne was brought down in the penalty area and Craig Price duly slotted the ball home 1-2. Hetton extended their lead in the 63rd minute with a great strike from Kyle Davis and 3 minutes later Davis beat two defenders and Chris Bell finished it off with the goalkeeper having no chance 1-4. Chester kept didn't drop their heads and made it 2-4 with two minutes to go. Langley Park Steelers travelled to Kelloe Wmc a spirited Steelers side the bare 11 defended well throughout the 1st half but kelloe wasted chances through Turton, Johnson and Graham. After the break, the introduction of Barton gave kelloe the edge. Barton was involved when Turton broke the deadlock with a neat close range finish. Man of the match Turton doubled the lead with a 30 yard screamer into the top corner. With the Steelers struggling, Soppitt and Barton with 2 wrapped the game up to make it 5-0 to kelloe. With Washington Chevies pitch unavailable the Game against Sedgefield st Edmunds was switched to Sedgefield,. 2 first half goals from Parsons and Hilder and a Penalty for Chevies in between resulted in a 2-1 win for St Eds WJFC travelled to Newton Aycliffe for their latest Premier Lgue encounter.Newton Aycliffe proved to be the stronger team and made attack after attack throughout the 1st half, jfc held out to keep the score level at H/T 0-0. The same pattern emerged in the 2nd half until jfc broke through the Aycliffe defence in a rare attacking move and Middlemiss fired home to give the visitors a 1-0 lead in the 65 min. The home team made attack after attack and this finally paid off when a direct move through the middle saw their forward get a touch which beat the approaching jfc keeper. The game was won with 7 mins. remaining when a long ball was headed on for Aycliffe`s centre forward to score at the far post with a backward header. F/T 2-1 N-Aycliffe

Sacriston Cricket Club Travelled to Coxhoe Wmc in the First Division on a rock hard pitch ,. Michael Mellor gave away a free kick on 7 minutes. From that free kick the ball was sent over to the far post where Mellor was and for the entire world the ball looked like it was going out of play but the Coxhoe number 10 got round the back and diverted the ball back across the goal and into the far corner to make it 1-0. Then on 26 minutes the Cricketers levelled the scores when Michael Frazer’s free kick was flicked on in the box by O’Brien and Yates brought the ball under control and placed a right footed shot into the bottom corner of the net to make it 1-1.The rest of the first half was even with Sacriston having lots of territory and causing problems in the Coxhoe defence with long throws from Draper and corners from James Thornton but we just couldn’t get the final touch to send the ball goal wards. Coxhoe then wasted the best chance of the game just before half time when their forward got through one on one with our keeper having been clearly yards off side and Marc Bladen did brilliantly to get back close enough to him to force him into shooting over the bar.
Half time came and went and Crickters started the 2nd half much the stronger team forcing many corners from which they had one cleared off the line and O’Brien had a great chance at the back post from Draper’s corner but put his header wide. Then on 72 minutes Coxhoe took the lead when a cross to our back post reached one of their players who was unmarked and he bundled in a finish, where a combination of Hall and Marc Bladen look to have kept the ball from crossing the line, but the referee decided from his position from 25 yards away that he could clearly give a goal .Final score 2-1 to Coxhoe. In a Typical Washington derby the Cross Keys playing the Victoria, with a nervy start but then settled down to a scrappy affair, keys tried to play football but never looked like scoring and the vic resulted in long balls which the keys never really dealt with. Two injuries to a weak turn out by the keys resulted in a game of two different styles of football which worked in the Vics favour and they came away with a hard worked 2-0 win. Burnside Wmc Travelled to Chilton Wmc, Chilton scored in the first half to lead 1 - 0. In the second half Burnside came back into the game and grabbed an equaliser, Sacriston wmc had goalkeeper problems for the home game against Gilesgate Moor Queens Head ,with the 1st choice keeper away on holiday, the 2nd choice injured in the warm up, so centre half, Michael Finch went in goal. Gilesgate took full advantage of this in the first half, scoring 3. The first was a good finish from the edge of the 18 yard box, the 2nd came when Asquith slid in and cleared the ball but was adjudged to have committed a foul resulting in a penalty, and this was converted. The 3rd was some good play resulting in a headed goal from 6 yards. Sacriston got 1 back just before half time when Wearmouth was brought down in the box and converted the penalty.
The 2nd half was totally different, Sacriston dominated for long periods, they hit the bar and post, scored another from a corner when Aaron White headed home. Sacriston's Tom Winter thought he had scored the equalizer only for the ref to blow for offside. Gilesgate were reduced to long balls over the top to try and relieve some pressure, but they defended well and the goalkeeper was their Man Of The Match.Final Score 2-3

In the Second Division Chester Plough Inn made the short trip to play Ouston. Chester Plough dominated the first half and created a number of chances but couldn’t break the deadlock. Shortly before half time and against the run of play Ouston took the lead. In the second half Ouston were a lot stronger and doubled their lead through Keith Lines. Kris Lawton added a third midway through the second half. New Durham WMC entertained East Rainton Fc in a scrappy first half all square 0-0. Second half Durham scored 4 second half goals to kill off a good east rainton side, 2 from Allen.... 1 each from Bowes and Brinkley. Houghton V Chilton Lodge and Sherburn Lambton Arms shared the Points in a 2-2 draw. Sherburn took the lead after 30 mins after a mistake by 'Chilton' keeper Defty to go 1-0 up. Chilton hit back in the second half and goals by the McPhersons Ian and Andy put them into a 2-1 lead. More chances for Chilton followed but they were unable to add to their tally and were punished five minutes from time when they were unable to clear their lines and the ball fell to Sherburns Martin to shoot home to equalise

In division 3 an entertaining Chester le Street derby saw the Cricket Club come out on top against the Red Lion. The Red Lion edged the first half and took the lead from the penalty spot after a handball. The Cricket Club started the second half the better team but found themselves 2-0 down when a misplaced pass found the Red Lion striker who finished well. This did not deter the CC however, who soon found themselves back in the game, Andrew Willcock pulling a goal back. From this point the Cricket Club dominated the game and got an equaliser via a cool finish from Lee Cuthbertson. A deserved winner followed soon as Willcock grabbed his second goal of the game.Bowburn Fc travelled to Framwellgate Moor Wmc, It was Bowburn kept the pressure on the two teams above them with a 5-2 away win at framwellgate moor in a equal first half Bowburn took over in the second and should have scored more, goals from Robbie Hurton 2 own goal substitute Ray Pirt and m.o.m. Jack Carr. Pelw Grange Dogs entertained New Brancepeth Wmc ,Both teams were up for this game and it was a shame the pitch was so hard but thats football. Pelaw went ahead with a penalty in the first 3 minutes taken by Neil worley but New Brancepeth pulled one back more or less straight away and then went 2-1 ahead all within the fiorst 7 minutes. After half time Pelaw Grange Dogs FC first drew level and then went ahead through goals from Chris Harvey, Chris Hawkins and Marc wood to make 4-2 and then in the last 5 minutes New Brancepeth fc were awarded a penalty that made it 4-3

In the Fourth Division Langley park Rams Head took a 1-0 lead going in to half time against visitors Ferryhill Dynamoes,.Only for ferryhill to equalize before the rams head extended there lead by two goals making it 3-1 only for the Dynamos to give a late rally to draw level with only a few minutes left. The pick of the goals was a stunning volley by young Callum Walton Ferryhill's hero.Quarrington Hill Wmc travelled to Burnmoor Jnrs Another cracking game between these two competitive sides. Burnmoor were excellent from the off and created a host of chances in the first 20 minutes only to be denied by a string of fine saves by young keeper Jordan Nicholson. In the 21st min Dan Beaney scored after being put through by Luke Jury. Second half was more even and end to end. Burnmoor getting a goal worked from a throw in and Q Hill grabbing 2 in 2 mins. The first, a surging run from left back by Lee Carter finishing with a cross / shot, and then Dan Beaney getting his second of the game. Goal of the game was Q Hills 4th, Jeff Dean finishing a fine move, before Burnmoor made it 2-4. Q hill MOM was Jordan Nicholson A well fought battle by two hard working teams on this fine spring morning Washington Jays were at High Shincliffe, both teams plucked away in the first half with possession and chances fairly even. Jays started 2nd half stronger and clinched a goal through a goal-mouth scramble that could easily have been given a penalty but Seed's handball was over the line saving him a red card but couldn't stop the goal. Hetton Lyons Cricket Club returned to League duty and had to work hard for the result today against visitors Langley Park Wmc , very few chances in the first half Warren Byrne saw his shot cleared off the line and a minute later shot wide of the goal. Langley parked nearly took the lead in the 50th minute but a double save from the Lyons goalkeeper Jameson kept them out, a minute later Lyons forward Kyle Davis had a one on one and his shot was saved from the Langley goalkeeper. The Lyons did take the lead in the 74th minute, from a free kick Billy smith headed it down for Warren Byrne to break the deadlock 1-0. Warren Byrne made it 2-0 ten minutes later a thru ball from Price and Byrne picked it up and rounded the keeper to score.Washington JFC welcomed Langley Steelers for this Premier League game. Steelers had the ball in the net first but the ref blew for off-side, shortly after JFC went 1-0 up after a cracking goal by Briggs from 20yds the ball flying into the left hand corner, it was 2-0 when Middlemiss cut in from the left and sent the keeper the wrong way, a mix up in the Steelers Defense allowed Macadam in to nip in and slide the ball home 3-0 H/T to JFC.The 2nd half was scrappy compared to the 1st half Steelers got a goal back in the 65 min, when Harris beat the JFC keeper to the ball slotting the ball over the line, 3-1 JFC, with 20 mins left a good move by Middlemiss down the left saw his cross touched on by Baxter for Stephenson to score at the far post F/T JFC 4-1.Kelloe wmc entertained Washington Chevies In a game, where the chevvies defended well, kelloe squandered numerous chances in the 1st half but eventually got the breakthrough just after half time when an inviting cross from Charlton was met with a bullet header from Hal graham. Kelloe then took charge but couldn't extend the lead, with Soppitt, Megran and Johnson all wasting opportunities, final score 1-0 kelloe wmc.

In the First Division Sedgefield Net Park entertained Chilton Wmc.First half was a tight affair but it was Net Park who took a deserved lead though Alan Jones who finished at the second attempt for his first for the club 1-0. Chilton nearly equalized with a cross that skimmed the bar.
Second half started with Chilton trying to play and pass the ball more but Netpark were tight in both midfield and defense. On 60mins Net Park were 2-0 up through James Duddin headed from a corner. A few Net park were struggling and Chilton were starting to get more possession without threatening Net park goal. Chilton did have the ball in the net but Chilton substitute handled the ball over the line. Net park made changes and started to gain control of the game then on 80mins Ryan Boardman finished brilliantly to give Net park another much needed 3pts, Final Score 3-0.Coxhoe Wmc were 3-2 winners at Burnside Wmc, Washington Cross Keys won 5-3 at Sedgefield Social Club.

In the Second Division

Houghton Chilton Lodge registered their first league win since last October in emphatic style beating Esh Winning CC 7-1 today. Ian McPherson opened the scoring after 20 mins shooting in after a goal mouth scramble. The joy of the goal was marred by the injury of defender Adam Summerson in the build up who after a clash of heads received seven stitches a fractured eye socket and cheek bone. Esh Winning equalized five minutes later following a 20 yard shot. 'Chilton then scored three times in eight minutes following a Gavin Tait shot 30 mines, a Craig Johnson header 35 mins, Tait scored his second from a penalty after 38 minutes following a foul on Ian McPherson to make it 1-4 at half time. Goals in the second half by man of the match Jonathon Fox who scored with a 20 yard shot following a free kick on 65 mins, another by Craig Johnston this time a shot from the edge of the area after some great work by Fox. Chester Plough Inn played Ferryhill Saints for the 2nd week running and were looking for revenge after last weeks drubbing. The first half was very tight but it was Ferryhill who broke the deadlock and went in 1 nil up at the interval. The 2nd half Chester Plough upped their game and had the majority of the possession and equalized with a long strike from Ben Lloyd that squirmed under the keeper’s body. The Plough grabbed the winner in the 60th minute when Chris Cuthbert son drilled the ball into the back of the net in a packed goalmouth. The Plough had a number of chances to kill the game off but a combination of good goalkeeping and poor finishing kept the score line down. F/T 2-1New Durham made 5 changes for this league game and after a scrappy start Ouston went in at half time winning 2-0, second half New Durham piled the pressure on and scored 3 winning the game 3-2.Ushaw Moor Cricket Club won 2-0 at Durham Bede Lodge.

In the Third Division

Pelaw Grange Dogs Fc looked more dangerous from the start at Dubmire Wmc and were having the better chance but failing to put them away but a corner won by Dave Henderson and taken by David Donnelly saw Neil Worley run into the penalty area and head the ball home after 15 minutes. Neil Worley then made it 2 nil for Pelaw Grange Dogs FC with a well taken penalty just before half time with a good hard penalty kick. After the break Dubmire tried to get into the game but Pelaw were still in control and should have gone further ahead with efforts wide of the target from several players. However Dubmire's keeper did make one really good save with a great effort that he tipped over the bar. So Pelaw go top of the table with only a few games left to play and have a home fixture on Tuesday night.Bowburn were 4-0 Home winners over Chester st Cuthberts Social.

In the Fourth Division

A very lackluster performance from the Ferryhill Dynamo’s gifted the visitors Washington Jays an easy away win. The jays scored two goals in the first half, the second half was a bit of a non-event both teams huffed and puffed but no goals could be found the game finished 0-2In a well contested game it was visitors Washington New Tavern who started brightly and but for some poor finishing should have been 3-0 up inside the first ten minutes. Quarrington Hill after their terrible start eventually got going and took the lead after 20 minutes through Chris Taylor. They extended the lead with another from Dan Beaney, but Washington were still in the game and a spectacular own goal made it 2-1 at half time. Q Hill were much better in the second half and raced to a 4-1 lead with 2 more goals from Man of the Match Dan Beaney before Jeff Dean settled the game, coming off the bench to score with his first touch. Washington never gave up and grabbed a late goal to make the final score 5-2.The Washington Honest Boy traveled to Pity Me ,This was a very feisty game at times but it was pity me that kept there cool and took control of the game. Pity me were very organized at the back and looked dangerous on the attack. Pity Me’s pressure paid off eventually when Brian Innes picked up the ball at the halfway line and played a nice ball for Gareth Bowen to run on to which he then slotted nicely under the keeper. Pity me continued to control the game and just before half time they got a free kick on the edge of the box, Kelvin scorer stepped up and placed the ball beautifully in the back of the net. In the second half pity me became a little sloppy and allowed Washington back in it with a goal. This turned out only to be a consolation goal as pity me switched back on and saw the game out for a win. Langley Park Rams Head lost another league game this time at Home to Bishop Middleham Fc Couple of regulars missing again so knew be up against it again. Bishop started better side and attacked well, but Langley could have scored 2 goals with Tony Rutter and Steven Cummings missing good chances. Bishop then took game to Langley and scored within a minute not long before half time. Second half same story bishop started stronger and scored again after 65minutes, then Langley finally got into game and Steven Cummings tapped ball in to try and get back into game but no more goals and bishop deserved the win 3-1

In the Bishop Auckland Heart Foundation Cup, the semi Finals took place with the League having 3 of the 4 Clubs involved. Newton Aycliffe Wmc traveled to Sedgefield st Edmunds, goals from Liam Parsons and John Cook gave the st Edmunds a 2-1 Home win.In the other Semi final Brandon Sports entertained Darlington DRSM two goals from Gavin Mudd and one from Graeme Stobbs put Brandon into the Final winning 3-1.

The FA have announced that FC Tripimeni were guilty of three separate and deliberate breaches of the rules regarding fielding ineligible players in their game against Oyster Martyrs and consequently, they have been removed from the competition and Oyster have been reinstated.

The FA have also confirmed that Tripimeni were guilty of deliberately breaching the same rule in previous rounds and have been fined £750 and banned from entering the Sunday Cup for 5 years!

This is the first time that I am aware of a side being banned for 5 years due to fielding ineligible players. This punishment is normally reserved for sides whose matches were abandoned due to crowd trouble, such as Buttershaw Whitestar v Coppelhouse in 2007 and Halton Moor v Flathouse in 2009.

Clearly, the FA were fully satisfied that Tripimeni had knowlingly committed numerous offences of playing ineligible players and in my opinion, their removal from the competition, their fine and ban are entirely justified.

So, Oyster Martyrs have another chance to reach their third final in four seasons, although a trip to Billingham Synthonia to meet Hetton Lyons is a daunting prospect for a full strenght Oyster side, let alone one that could be missing three key players, following their indisciplined defeat to Tripimeni.

The two sides have met before. Hetton Lyons beat Oyster 3-1 in a 3rd round tie in 2007/08, which was Oyster's debut in the competition.

A massive crowd of well over 600 enthusiastic supporters are well entertained by Coxhoe Wmc and New Durham Wmc in the final of the Durham Sunday League Guards Cup Sponsored by JD Taxis. Both sides playing attractive football throughout but it’s the better New Durham Wmc finishing that earns them a second cup final win of the season having won last week’s Presidents Cup.
New Durham start the brightest and go close to opening the scoring after fifteen minutes when Danny Chester sets up Nicholas Marley, however Coxhoe keeper Ryan Hindhaugh is out quickly to bravely smoother the shot. A period of Coxhoe pressure is almost rewarded when a great Michael Owens header beats keeper Scot Thompson but rebounds off the cross bar to safety. From the resultant clearance New Durham’s Andrew Ward storms down the field to set up the first goal with an inch perfect pass to Graeme Brenkley who strokes the ball home to make it 0-1. Coxhoe start the second half strongly, winger Paul Broom constantly probing with a succession of crosses but New Durham’s defenders marshaled by man of the match Stewart Birkitt repel them all. On the sixty minute mark New Durham’s Andrew Ward sends over a long range free kick which finds Nicholas Marley unmarked in the box, he makes no mistake with a powerful header into the far corner of the net. Five minutes later Coxhoe are back in it, Michael Owens setting up Colin Young to make it 1-2. Coxhoe pile on the pressure but to no avail, with time running out the result is put beyond with Graeme Brenkley’s second goal to make 1-3.

Both teams looking for a place in the final started nervously and visitors started to get the upper hand and had a glorious chance to take the lead in the 17th minute, a wayward header from a Lyons defender and the ball fell nicely for the lively McGivern and he was one on one with the goalkeeper but a tremendous save from Finch denied them the lead. It was the Lyons that took the lead in the 26th minute, a cross on the right hand side and Davison out jumped the Oyster's Goalkeeper and his header fell to Callum Griffiths to slot the ball into the net for his first goal of the season.

Second half and the Lyons started much better than in the first half, Ellision had a glorious chance to put he Lyons further ahead but his shot went over the crossbar. Hetton did get the second goal in the 61st minute a lovely thru ball from Graydon to Mark Davison and his shot from a tight angle gave the Goalkeeper no chance 2-0. Oysters had to push more men forward to get a goal and that came in the 70th minute a cross from the by line and McGivern was their to poke the ball in to the net 2-1. The Liverpool side had their centre half sent off shortly after for a reckless tackle on Substitute Watson. In the 90th minute Oyster should have sent the game into extra time but from five yards out the striker saw his shot go over the bar

LANGLEY PARK RAMS HEAD 0 v 2 NEW DURHAM WMC FRIDAY 16th MARCH 2012
The first half was an evenly matched affair with both sets of defenders dominating. Langley Rams Head created the first opening with a Tony Rutter long range effort which didn't trouble Durham keeper Scott Thompson. New Durham becoming stronger as the half progressed and should of took the lead on the thirty minute mark, a great Graeme Brenkley run created an excellent opportunity for Mark Wild to score but he fired his shot wide of the goal.
The second half New Durham were the more determined and justly went into the lead with a great Mark Wild half volley from just inside the box on the hour mark. Despite some brave Langley Park defending in which defender Craig Bowman and goalkeeper Simon Huscroft were particularly impressive Durham's pressure eventually paid off when Mark Wild scored his second with a fierce drive from the edge of the box.

In the Premier Division Kelloe Wmc travelled to Langley Park to play the Social Club, it was a first half dominated by kelloe, the visitors wasted several chances with Turton, Ward and Megran all guilty of squandering golden opportunities. Ward eventually breaking the deadlock after a through ball from Best, calmly beating the goalkeeper with a composed finish. After the break, more pressure from Kelloe lead to substitute Gavin Barton making it 2-0. Langley then applied pressure but Thompson made the result certain when he fired through a packed goalmouth to make the final score 3-0.to Kelloe.Top of the table Houghton Comrades travelled to Pelton to play the Buffs, a Superb performance this morning from Pelton saw them win 7-3 thanks to goals from, Kerry 3, Marron, Freeman, Drummond and Brown .Newton Aycliffe Wmc shared the points in 3-3 draw at Washington jfc.

In the First Division Leaders Coxhoe Wmc crashed to a 3-0 defeat at Washington Cross Keys, Sacriston Wmc traveled to Burnside Wmc, Sacriston started the better of the two sides, however it was Burnside who took the lead, a long ball over the top from midfield looked like it was easy for the defense but Summers smashed the ball into his own player and he lobbed the keeper from 18 yards. Sacristan then took charge and dominated the game, Sam Renwick scored on his debut slotting past the keeper. Rewick should have had a second when Wearmouth went past 3 players down the left and squared it, Renwick's shot beat the keeper but the defender on the line pulled off a lovely diving save to deny him. Penalty and only a yellow for the deliberate handball. Wearmouth slotted it home to make it 2-1. The second half saw Sacriston continue to dominate and create several chances. Burnside tried to get back into it and had several corners but couldn’t score. Wearmouth should have made it 3 when he beat the offside trap and round Final Score Burnside 1-4 Sacriston.Chilton Wmc were 3-0 winners at Sedgefield Social.Gilesgate Queens Head crashed to a 7-1 defeat at Sacriston Cricket Club.

In the second division New Durham Wmc traveled to Washington to play the Lambton Village Inn, game of missed chances for New Durham but right at the death Washington Lambton were awarded a penalty. But stand in keeper Craig Jackson saved the spot kick, to give New Durham a share of the points in a 0-0 draw. East Rainton Fc won 2-0 at Shadforth Plough Inn; Ferryhill Saints were 6-2 home winners over Ouston Fc.

In the Third Division Chester Cricket Club entertained Pelaw Grange Dogs Fc,Pelaw Grange Dogs were caught napping at the start and conceded an easy goal after 7 minutes but after a further ten minutes Chris Harvey levelled the score to make it 1 all. David Henderson worked hard on the left hand side of the field and was awarded several free kicks which came to nothing. Then after 30 minutes a punt up field by David Donnelly saw Marc Wood on a one to one with the keeper who keeper out quickly to block the ball only to see it bounce off his own central defender into the net to make it 1-2 for Pelaw Grange Dogs FC at the break.. Pelaw Dominated the second half but failed to capitalise on further chances, winning 2-1. New Brancepeth Wmc entertained Lumley Fc, in a game were New Brancepeth dominated first half and were winning 3-0 by half time thanks to goals Mark Hughes 2 and John Kidd 1,2nd half Lumley started to play and gave New Brancepeth a bit of a game but substitute Andrew Nicholson score a header and superb second with Ricky Box rounding up the scoring, this was comfortable victory for New Brancepeth winning 6-1.The Bird Inn were 5-3 winners at West Rainton Fc. In the Chester le Street Derby the Red Lion were 15-0 winners over St Cuthbert’s Social. Bowburn Fc were 5-2 home winners over Framwellgate Moor Wmc.

In the Fourth Division Quarrington Hill Wmc entertained Washington Jays, A close game with few chances decided by a single goal. Jays took the lead through a free kick which was fumbled by Quarrington Hill keeper Jordan Nicholson. The young keeper made up for his mistake 15 minutes later with a superb penalty save to deny Jays skipper from 12 yards. He faced another spot kick after Stuart Walton conceded his second penalty of the game but this time the Jays no 10 blazed his shot over the bar. Quarrington Hill had plenty of opportunities to level, but could not convert their chances Langley Park Rams Head traveled to the Rec at Kelloe to play the Davey Lamp looking to keep their unbeaten run going, with the bright sun behind them the Rams Head repeatedly struck with goals in the 3^rd a good header from Anthony Bussey into path of Tony Rutter and he put it away,,12th , when Steven Cummings shot and the Davy Lamp keeper saved but only into path of Michael Cant who blasted the rebound into the net. Langley were then further in front after 18 minutes Michael Watson took a corner and the Davy Lamp keeper pushed the ball into his own net. To make it 3-0 to the Rams Head. Which finally woke the Lamp players up late in the first half. Rams Head had a player Anthony Bussy sent of just before half time for foul language. Second half and Langley knew would be up against it but scored after 47 minutes when Steven Cummings took ball of defender and drilled ball into the Davy Lamp net, no further goals final score 4-0 to the Rams Head. Pity Me entertained Washington New Tavern Fc It was a very frustrating game for Pity Me, in a game where they dominated for large periods of the game. Unfortunately it was Washington that got the only goal of a game when a poor cross turned into a shot and dropped in the back of the net. There then followed a full half of pity me pressure but they had no end product to go with their dominance .Witton Gilbert Wmc returned to winning ways with a fine 4-3 win at Burnmoor Juniors.

In the Pass and Go League cup semi final, Hetton Lyons Cricket Club entertained Brandon Sports, Two goals from Joe Walton and Warren Byrne put the Lyons 3-0 up in the first half, and on the hour mark Brandon pulled a goal back. Hetton kept the pressure on but good goal keeping denied them from further goals. The Lyons winning 3-1

In the Heart Foundation Trophy Sedgefield st Edmunds were winners at Witton Park Rose and Crown, the scores level after Extra Time at 2-2 Beamson scoring both St Edmunds Goals, Sedge field won the penalty shoot out 4-3, and now face Newton Aycliffe Wmc in the semi-finals.

Chester Red Lion and High Handen Hold Bird Inn fully entertained the spectators gathered at New Ferons Park for the Swinburn Maddison Durham Sunday League knock out cup final sponsored by D&P Trophies. The Bird created the first opening, after five minutes, with a long range Ben Thompson effort which the outstretched Red Lion keeper Mark Middlemas parried outside of the post. However after that the Red Lion took full control , Richard Beggs was denied an equaliser by a great Nick Barker save but the keeper could do nothing to prevent the Lions equaliser, good inter-play between Steven Wood and Allen Robson was finished off with a fine strike from Steven Wood. The Red Lion continued to dominate until the thirty sixth minute mark, a fierce Neil Tiffen shot almost put the Bird back on level terms but his effort thundered out of play off the post. In the final moments of the half the woodwork is again rattled by Neil Tiffen. Both teams came out in the second half pressing forward at every opportunity, chances are created at both ends but most are from long range and create little problem for either keeper. The Red Lion extend their lead from a corner kick that finds Paul Collett free in the box, his back header floats into the corner of the net to make it 2-0. The Bird Inn do not give up the fight and dominate the final twenty minutes in an effort to get back into the game, Jonathan Swift gives them a life line with a fine headed goal with ten minutes remaining. In the final minute the Bird Inn thought they had an equaliser but disappointingly for them the goal was ruled out by the officials, seconds later the final whistle goes to end a game which had been thoroughly enjoyed by all in attendance.

The Leagues involvement in the Durham Football Association ended on Sunday, the previous week saw Sedgefield St Edmunds loose in the semi-final, this week Hetton Lyons Cricket Club entertained Stockton Hardwick Social in the other semi Final. The game started at Murton Cw with snow falling and the Lyons started brightly but it was a game of very few chances although the Lyons were the stronger of the two sides and had a glorious chance to score in extra time, minutes later Stockton scored with ten minutes of extra time remaining. The Lyons kept pushing for the equalizer and Danny Moore had the ball in the net but the referee gave hand ball against him, Hetton Lyons Cricket Club 0-1 Hardwick Social.

In the Premier Division Washington Jfc entertained Lang park wmc it was a cracking game between two evenly matched teams, the 1st half ended all square 0-0. Washington Jfc took the lead through Taylor early in the 2nd half who’s shot from the left wing beat everyone sailing into the far corner 1-0, the game was all square when Langley Park wmc scored with a header from a free kick from the right wing 1-1, in the 65min ,Washington scored the goal of the game when Stephenson and Miller played a one two before Stephenson played Macadam in down the right and his first time cross was half volleyed into the net by Hewitt 2-1 jfc, the game ebbed and flowed both ways until Langley Park wmc were awarded a free kick 22yds out with a minute left on the clock, a cracking free kick was touched onto the bar and the rebound was headed in by the Langley Park wmc left winger, 2-2, jfc kicked off to resume the game and the ref blew for full time, a 2-2 draw. Sedgefield St Edmunds entertained Pelton Roab, Fought game Pelton went ahead on 55mins.Flockett levelled on 65mins but Pelton got the winner 8 mins from time. Brandon Sports travelled to Kelloe Wmc and were convincing 10-0 winners, as the score line suggests, this was a one sided game. The result was dictated by one team having a good turnout from its players and the other didn't. Brandon eventually settled, worked chances and took them, quickly killing the game off. Brandon scorers Graeme Stobbs 3, Michael Fort 3, Tommy English 3, and Phil Shields 1.Chesters were 4-3 winners at Washington Chevy’s.

In Division One Houghton Mill All Stars scored after only twenty seconds of the kick off, however joy was short lived as Washington Victoria ran out 5-1 winners. Mill’s goal started with a Chris Rogerson boot up field from his own half which was headed down by Stephen Parkin twenty yards from goal into the path of an oncoming Joe Mence who blasted home. Victoria led 3-1 at the break before netting a further two second half goals. Keeper Dan Pearson prevented a heavier defeat for Mill when he saved a penalty kick and made an acrobatic tip over the bar from a long range shot. Sacriston Wmc entertained Chilton Wmc Comfortable win & a clean sheet for Sacriston in cold conditions, should have scored more than the two but Chilton’s keeper was in great form. David Winter with both the goals.Sacriston winning 2-0.Sedgefield Social won 2-1 at Burnside Wmc, Coxhoe were 5-0 winners over visitors Chester Hilda Park. The Cricketers from Sacriston won 2-0 at Sedgefield Net Park. A game played in horrible condition with the rain lashing down. Sacriston took a 2-0 lead at half time due to some sloppy defending by Net park leaving Renwick to finish well on both occasions, Net park hit the bar with a 25yrad free-kick. Second half was more even but Net park didn't capitalise on some opportunities, mainly from set pieces they went 3 up front to try and salvage something from the game but it wasn’t to be, Full Time 0-2.Washington Cross Keys lost 2-0 at Gilesgate Moor Queens Head in a Sloppy passing from cross keys through the game away after having a lot of the possession throughout the whole game. Early penalty for Gilesgate made it 1-0 in the first half and an unstoppable shot from 25 yards in the second made it 2-0. Keys had their chances to draw the game but the goals never came, a deserved hard fought win for Gilesgate .

In the second Division Washington Lambton Village and visitors Ushaw Moor Cricket Club shared the Points in a 1-1 draw. East Rainton Fc were 3-0 home winners over Sherburn Lambton Arms. New Durham Wmc travelled to Esh Winning to play the Cricket Club, game was settled by Mark Wild with 2 goals second half to give New Durham the points. Chester Plough Inn entertained Shadforth Plough Inn on a cold and wet morning and ran out comfortable 5-0 winners. Man of the match Ben Lloyd grabbed a hat-trick and further goals from Dean Cooper and Andrew Dawson sealed the win.

In the Third Division Pelaw Grange Dogs entertained Dubmire Wmc, with it raining from start to finish and the temperature dropped the temperature on the pitch was anything but cold. Both teams held their own for the first 20 minutes but Pelaw Grange Dogs fc Might have scored in the first 2 minutes. As it was they had to wait for a fine move with David Henderson well inside his own half passing to David Donnelly before the ball reached Chris Hawkins who put the ball passed the keeper to make it 1 nil. Chris Harvey then got a second and just before half time Chris Hawkins got his second to make it 3 nil to Pelaw Grange Dogs FC. After the interval David Hawkins made it 4 nil with a fine header passed keeper Andrew Elder before Chris Gosnell made it 5 nil with another header after a cross from David Henderson. Pelaw should have now capitalized on their possession but Dubmire held on with their keeper making some fine saves. Bowburn Fc played hosts to visitors Pittington fc’ Bowburn controlled this game from the start but missed lots of chances earlier on before Robbie Hurton scored just before the break. After the break Pittington scored against the run of play to make it 1-1 but Bowburn just kept pressing and were rewarded with 2 more from Robbie and 1 from Jack Carr before a late consolation made it 4-2. Chester Cricket Club beat Lumley 2-0. A poor first half saw few chances created by either side, and finished 0-0. The second half saw the Cricket Club take control of the game, and they took the lead when a ball forward wasn't dealt with by the Lumley defense, allowing Steven Rose to nip in and score. A second goal followed when the ball fell to Ryan Pender on the edge of the box, his shot took a deflection and looped into the net. Final score 2-0 to the Cricketers. The Bird Inn lost 11-2 at New Brancepeth Wmc a very comfortable victory for, New Brancepeth, New Brancepeth dominated throughout, 4 goals from Ricky Box 2 Mark Hughes 2 Craig Hindmarch 1 Gary Wilkinson 1 forJohn Kidd and a very rare strike from Lee Wilkinson from inside his own half which went straight over keepers head, all in all a great victory.and Chester Red Lion were 7-3 winners at Framwellgate Moor Wmc.

In the Fourth Division Langley Park Rams Head were visitors to Witton Gilbert Wmc, Langley looking to keep their unbeaten league record going, 1-0 at half time with goal from Tony Rutter.Langley made sure of game with another 2 goals second half with another from Rutter and one from top scorer Anthony Bussey, Witton scored a consolation late on in game.Ferryhill Dynamo’s were at Quarrington Hill Wmc ,it was a comfortable win for Ferryhill where the difference in quality was reflected in the score line. Quarrington Hill made a game of it first half but could not stop Ferryhill going into half time 2-0 up. They couldn't match the first half efforts and dynamos ran out deserved 5-0 winners. In the Washington Derby the New Tavern were 4-1 winners at the Jays, In driving rain there was nothing to separate the two teams at half time , 0-0 .Jays scored first through Chris Mustoe , Tavern replied soon after , 1-1 . A defensive mix up resulted in an own goal from Jays . The teams both had chances towards the end though only Tavern converted theirs to win 4-1.Kelloe Davy Lamp lost 4-1 at The Avenue; Burnmoor Jurs were 8-2 home winners over Pity Me in classic game of two half as they say. Pity Me had the better of the first half with them pinning Burnmoor in for large periods of the half. Pity me capitalised on their pressure when Kelvin Scorer volleyed a cross into the back of the net just before half time. Burnmoor came out the blocks in the second half and slotted two goals in quick succession. Pity me pulled level almost immediately with a wonderfully taken free kick from Kelvin Scorer. Pity me then seemed to switch off, they stop closing down and this allowed burnmoor to play the big ball into the box, pity me did not track any runner leaving the pity me defenders to be outnumbered. Burnmoor made the extra men in the box count and racked up the goals and the Honest Boy lost 5-2 at Bishop Middleham.

It was Durham Football Association County Cup Day Sedgefield st Edmunds traveled to Sunderland for a Semi final tie against Plains Farm Social, a Steve Flocket goal put the tie into extra time at 1-1, but the stronger Plains Farm side added two further goals to win 3-1 .In a delayed Quarter Final Tie Durham Sunday League Premier Sides Hetton Lyons Cricket Club and Langley Park Wmc met at Langley Park. It was Hetton Lyons who progressed into the semi final of the competition, Ian Watson got the opening goal on eleven minutes when the Langley Park goalkeeper miskicked his clearance and Watson ran in to score. Watson could have doubled his tally but a brilliant save from the goalkeeper. All the action was in the Langley Park half and Steve Capper and Danny Moore were denied by the goalkeeper. The Lyons went 2-0 up in the 31st minute, a corner from Craig Price and a excellent diving header from Nicky Kane scored the goal. Watson had another good chance to score but hit the angle of the woodwork. Nicky Kane got his second goal in the 53rd minute a pin point cross from Callum Griffiths and Kane got his head on the ball to make it 3-0. Langley Park kept looking for a goal and a cross from the left hand side and the striker’s header found the net 3-1.Hetton had plenty of chances for the rest of the game but failed to find the net
In the League Own Cup Competitions the semi-final of the JD Taxis Trophy took place, New Durham Wmc traveled to Chilton Wmc, both side looking to book a place in the Final. , New Durham opened the scoring on the 20 mins through, Andrew Barrowclough, then Durham made it 2-0 just before half time through Graeme Brenkley, The second half saw Durham throw a 2 goal lead away as Chilton fought back to make the score 2-2 at 90 minutes Nicky Pickford scored a free kick from the edge of the box to make it, 1-2 and then 10mins from time he added a second, a penalty to make 2-2. This took the tie into extra time, Durham led again through Brenkley and again Chilton leveled up, but with 8 Mins left mark wild was put through to make it 4-3 and send Durham into the final

Washington JFC entertained Chester le Street Chester’s , Score: Washington JFC 4-2 Chester’s, JFC had 60% of the play in the 1st half but this did not stop Chester’s taking the lead in 30mins when their no.9 got to the touch line playing a great ball into the path of his team mate who side footed in from 5yds 1-0 . Jock Clarke made it 1-1 when a great pass by Proudock from the right found Clarke who timed his header well the ball flying into the bottom corner 1-1. Jfc went 2-1 up after a great 4oyd ball by Middlemiss found Miller on the rightwing and his 1st time pass found Macadam who slotted home from 7 yds, H/T 2-1 jfc. Soon after the re-start jock made it 3-1 after some neat football through the middle, after one blocked shot the ball fell to Briggs who placed his shot into the left hand corner, after more pressure a great 1-2 between Middlemiss and Macadam saw Middlemiss left foot shot stay low beaten the keeper to make the score 4-2 to Washington .
In the First Division Leaders Coxhoe Wmc travelled to Sacriston Cricket Club, The Cricketers started the game quite brightly and had plenty of the ball and had some free kicks but they didn’t really make the most of them and failed to trouble Tommy Orton in the Coxhoe goal.Coxhoe took the lead when the cricketers failed to clear the ball out of the box from the free kick and Michael Frazer was adjudged to have bundled the Coxhoe player over in the box and a penalty was given. The Coxhoe number 10 despatched the penalty into the bottom right hand corner to make it 1-0.
Half time came and went with little more meaningful action and the game was still in the balance. Then on 51 minutes the Coxhoe went 2-0 up , the centre forward over ran the ball into our box where Stuart Fenton was defending and he had seemed to have covered the run but then he decided to let the ball run instead of clearing it and the Coxhoe forward took a gamble and continued his run forward and found himself with a easy finish from 8 yards out.The Cricketers pushed forward looked to score but they conceded the best goal of the match when a good passing move by Coxhoe coming in from the left cut open our defence and the chance was well finished to make it 3-0.With 89 minutes on the clock Coxhoe got another penalty when Kevin Coates was tracking back into his own box and he went shoulder to shoulder with the Coxhoe forward who went down very easy and again the referee had no hesitation in pointing to the spot. The penalty was converted expertly again, this time into the top right hand corner of the net to make it 4-0.However just a minute later straight from the kick off we finally managed to put a good passing move together in the Coxhoe half which resulted in Collinson making the final pass to Coates who was forced wide by the Coxhoe keeper before Coates eventually rounded him and he found the top left corner of the unguarded net from a tight angle to make amends for conceding the penalty. Burnside Wmc lost 4-3 at Chester Hilda Park, Net Park and Washington Vic shared the points in a 1-1 draw, and Sedgefield Social lost 1-0 at the Queens Head.
In the second division Durham Bede Lodge entertained Chilton Lodge a fairly evenly matched game saw Bede lodge take the lead through a quality Andrew Gates strike. Houghton Chilton lodge equalised from a well hit free kick. As the game looked like it was heading for a draw, Neill Waters scored the winning goal for Bede lodge. Ouston Fc lost 4-0 at East Rainton Fc. Chester Plough Inn completed their first league double of the season away to Esh Winning Cricket Club. Dean Cooper opened the scoring in the early stages and Sam Baddams quickly doubled the lead. Chris Cuthbertson added a third after fifteen minutes only for Esh Winning to reduce the deficit ten minutes later. Dean Cooper made it 4-1 shortly before half time. The Plough continued to control the game in the second half and added a fifth goal through Mark Atchison and soon after made it six through Gavin Prudhoe. Esh Winning scored 2 goals to make the score more respectable but Chris Cuthbertson rounded the scoring off to make it 7-3 to The Plough!.Ferryhill Saints shared the points at Ushaw Moor Cricket Club in a 2-2 draw. The Lambton Arms earned a Point in the 1-1 draw at Washington Lambton Village Inn.

The match then was dominated mainly by Pelaw Grange Dogs Fc but they failed to take any advantage of their possession. In the second half the game continued in the same vane but then a flighted ball into the box from Framwellgate moor was tipped onto the bar came off the bar and hit keeper Craig Bain to bounce on the line for Paul Curry to knock the ball accidentally into his own net. This was short lived though for Chris Harvey who had come on as a substitute scored and then got a second to make it 1-3 to the Pelaw Grange Dogs FC. In the Big Chester le Street Derby Game the Cricket Club entertained visitors the Red Lion , An entertaining derby between hosts the Cricket Club and visitors The Red Lion .The Red Lion came out on top winning 3-2. The first half was a tight affair with neither side able to break the deadlock. The game came to life in the second half, however, as the Red Lion took the lead only to be pegged back by a Michael Redshaw header. The visitors took the lead for a second time but a Chris Rayner strike saw the Cricketers equalize. The game was won in the last few minutes with a strike from the edge of the box after the Cricket Club failed to clear their lines. West Rainton were at New Brancepeth Wmc the game started with a few nerves for New Brancepeth after there last result against Rainton but dominated the game throughout and were never in doubt to be fair, goals came from Steve Hughes, Ricky Box and Ryan Wilkinson,West Rainton with an own goal, very comfortable 3-1 win for New Brancepeth in the end. Pittington Fc entertained Lumley Fc at Sherburn Liesure Centre, this was a pretty even game, with chances all over the pitch, but it was pittington who took the 2-0 win, thanks to Richard lewins and Dan Devine goals.. Dubmire Lost 3-2 at Bowburn Fc.
In the Fourth Division Ferryhill Dynamos entertained the Honest Boy from Washington. It was the Dynamo’s who took an early lead after a goalkeeping error, the keeper failed to deal with a simple back pass and gifted Vinny Gash with an easy tap in. Gash was at it again when he intercepted a misplaced pass from the goal keeper to slot home and make it 2-0 at half time. Ferryhill wrapped the game up when Liam Armstrong pick the ball up went past a defender and drill home into the bottom left hand corner, final score 3-0 to the Dynamo’s. Langley Park Rams Head had Burnmoor as visitors ,Langley kept there unbeaten run going with 2 goals from Steven Mickle , a one of from Craig bowman and 1 from Anthony Bussey,Burnmoor scored best goal of game with a fine volley. Score could have been more as both sides hit the woodwork. Final Score 4-1.Pity Me travelled to Kelloe to play the Davy Lamp, A very fast pace game and it was end to end for large periods of the game. The first half was pretty much even with both teams creating their fair of chances, with the best chance of the half falling to pity me, where a cross field ball left the striker one on one with the keeper, the striker chipped the keeper only to see the ball come back off the post. The second half again was end to with Kelloe taking the lead with a will taken goal after beating the offside trap. Pity me got back into the when David Grindley but a looping cross into the box and the keeper came and dropped the ball Pity Me were the fastest to react with Kelvin Scorer slotting the ball home from close range. The game continued to go end to end until the latter stages of the game where Pity Me seemed to run out of legs and Kelloe made the most of this scoring 3 more goals. Washington Jays entertained Quarrington Hill Wmc.The Jays led 2-1 at half time with Josh Fox getting both goals. Quarrington equalized early in the 2nd half, but Jays went 3-2 up with 20 mins to go from the penalty spot when David Halliday converted well. Jays 4th came 10 mins from time after a good effort from Tom Clements from outside the box came off Adam Hill and wrong footed Quarringtons keeper.

KELLOE 4 v 1 HETTON LYONS CC

A large crowd gathered at Ferens Park for the first of the Swinburne Maddison Durham Sunday Football League 2012 cup finals. Hetton start the game strongly creating three good opportunities in the first ten minutes, Lee Harrison has a long range effort that sails over the top of the bar, two minutes later Joseph Walton warms the palms of Kelloe keeper Carl Morris with a fierce shot that rebounds to safety, veteran Jason Ainsley comes closest to opening the scoring with a lob over the advancing keeper that falls onto the top of the net. Kellloe defend well and rebuke Hettons pressure and mid way through the half start to gain foothold in the game. A poor clearance by the Hetton keeper is latched onto on the edge of the box by Kieran Megran however keeper Ben Escritt redeems himself with a brave save. Minutes later Kelloe should of took the lead, an accurate Neil Charlton cross finds Hal Graham free in the box his powerful header beats keeper Ben Escritt but skims off the top of the bar. Both teams continue to create chances, mostly from well outside the penalty area, but the finishing does not match up to the approach play and the first half ends 0-0.

Kelloe announce their intentions for the second half with the introduction of forward Jake Johnson who almost breaks the deadlock with his first touch heading narrowly wide a great Graham Irving cross. Kelloes press hard and on the fifty third minute mark take the lead, a powerful Kieran Megran run down the right finishes with a wonderful pull back cross from the goal line into the path of Gavin Barton who scores with an accurate header. Kelloe make it two nil seven minutes later, Gary Turton’s corner kick finds Gavin Barton free in the box and again he powerfully heads home. Kelloe are in full flow and confidently press forward and are fortuitously awarded a penalty, Gavin Barton hammers the resultant spot kick home to complete his hat-trick. Hetton to their credit keep player attractive football in search of a lifeline however the result is put beyond doubt when a Kieran Megran corner is sliced into his own net by a Hetton defender. In the final moments of the game Michael Canavan scores Hettons consolation goal to make the final score 4 – 1.

In the Durham County Football Association Sunday Cup 3^rd round Kelloe wmc Finally played the Home Fixture against Hartlepool Hillcarter, After 3 weeks of trying,. Kelloe dominated from the off when they went 3-0 up early up with 2goals from the returning Gavin Barton and 1 from Tony Megran. Kelloe were 6-0 up at half time when John Turton and Wilson added goals as well as Megran doubling his tally! After the break both Barton and Megran completed their hat-tricks, Megran's 5th of the season! Subs Peachey and Thompson added goals to make the final score 10-0 to kelloe.This now sets up all Durham Sunday League tie in the next round against Sedgefield st Edmunds. All the other Games in the County Cup were postponed.

In the Pass and Go League Cup Quarter Final Pelton Roab entertained Washington Jfc, Pelton Field was not playable so the tie was transferred to Biddick School’s 3g pitch. The Game Started More like a Practice Game Then the game burst into Life 30 Mins in When Ritchie Scored the Opener for Pelton. Ritchie Was Sent off, a straight red for a high stud showing tackle , this gave jfc more of the game and they made that pay when a great pass from the right saw Costa Lorraine flick the ball passed the diving RAOB keeper. 1-1 H/T The Sending Off Seemed Top Spur Pelton On And 5 Mins Into The Second Half A Neat Finish From Graver Restored Peltons Lead Mickle Put the Game To Bed Before A Mistake From The Washington Goalkeeper Gifted Kerry With Peltons 4, Tough On The Keeper Who Up Till Then Had Pulled Of Several Saves For Washington To Keep The Score Down.

In the Quarter Final of the JD Taxis Trophy New Durham Wmc entertained Chester Red Lion; it was a great cup tie, end to end football from both sides in tricky conditions. New Durham winning 4-1 goals coming from Mark Wild, Andrew Chester and 2 from Nicky Marley.

In the First Division Max Stoker netted both goals for Houghton Mill All Stars in a fine 2-0 away win at neighbours Burnside WMC.Stoker's first came on the hour mark when he fired the ball into the top corner of the net from twenty five yards out beating the outstretched arms of keeper Lee Henderson. His second was on seventy five minutes when he ran into the six yard area to head home a fine Joe Mence right wing cross after good work by Stephen Parkin.With five minutes remaining Burnside were unlucky not to pull a goal back when a great Chris Wilson strike was met by Mill keeper Dan Pearson who made an acrobatic backward save to punch the ball over the cross bar. Mill's defensive partnership of Alistair Dodds and Philip Thompson were resolute throughout whilst Burnside full back Stephen Gamble was also in fine form. Washington Cross Keys were 4-0 home winners over Sacriston Wmc in very difficult conditions, even game in 1st half, 2nd half Washington the better side. Chester Hilda Park and visitors Gilesgate Moor Queens Head shared the points.

In the second Division East Rainton Fc won 7-1 at Esh Winning Cricket Club, Ouston Fc won 1-0 at Sherburn Lambton Arms and Shadforth Plough Inn won 4-2 at Washington Lambton Village.

In the Third Division Dubmire Wmc entertained Pittington Fc, In very poor conditions both sides played some good football, but an own goal and 2 Goals From Ben Maddison supported by David Finch, gave Dubmire the 4-3 win Lumey Fc entertained the Bird Inn, it was The Bird that raced into a 2-0 lead which they led on to until half time. Mark Bailes scored Lumley’s first goal before Carl Kalagurama equalised then he grabbed the winner. Final score 3-2 LumleyWest Rainton took the lead after about 20 minutes in their home game against Pelaw Grange Dogs, both sides had found their feet with a drive into the left hand corner that Craig Bain couldn't reach. Neil Worley of Pelaw Grange Dogs FC then had a fine passing move with Dave Henderson who slotted the ball home to make it 1-1. Before half time West Rainton went ahead again only for Pelaw to respond straight away to make it 2-2 before half time. After the break Pelaw eventually went ahead for the first time with a goal from Chris Hawkins and took control of the game with further goals from Chris Harvey and David Donnelly. To make it 2-5 to Pelaw Grange Dogs FC.

In the Fourth Division Langley Park Rams Head entertained Witton Gilbert Wmc; it was another win for Langley but only just. Really fair play to Witton only turned up with 11 and mostly all young players, but they battled well and should of getting a draw out a game. Langley were poor and only player Michael Watson played well for team. Martin Bowers was sent of in first half for Langley and rightly so for a two footed challenge and Langley just couldn’t get going with ten men. Langley got the win in last 5 minutes Anthony Bussey was fouled in box with no complaints from witton and he got up and put penalty away. Langley winning 1-0.On a tricky pitch Washington jays entertained The Avenue from Shincliffe, the Jays took an early lead through Dan Robson, who ran onto a through ball and flicked the ball past shincliffes keeper. Shincliffe replied from a big deflection off a jay’s defender which looped over the keeper from 20 yards. In the second half jays went in front when David Halliday headed in form a set piece. Both teams attacked quite well as legs became tired and in the last minute shincliffe won a penalty that was saved by Jay’s keeper Anth Scott to the delight of his team mate’s .Jays winning 2-1
