Mill's line up included three over 40's players in Chris Lindsay, Mitch Thompson and Paul Brennan and it was Brennan who notched a couple of goals in Mill's second half fight back. Also in the First Division a fine solid Lumley team performance ended in a 3-0 victory over visitors Gilesgate Moor Hotel. The deadlock was broken early in the 2nd half when Paul Howe pounced to score from close range. Howe doubled Lumley's lead when "the fox in the box" bundled the ball into the net from close range. In the second Division Following on from their Midweek win over West Rainton Fc, Ushaw Moor Cricket Club were 5-1 Home winners over Washington Lambton village, hat-trick of brilliant individual goals by Scott nattrass, and 2 headers, 1 each from Gary Clark and Trevor ball Chester Plough Inn Entertained Sedgefield Black Lion down at the Riverside in Chester le Street This is the first time the clubs have met in any competion and the conditions were perfect. The Plough Inn kicked off the game and got the perfect start when we took the lead as early as the 2nd minute. The ball was played down the right channel for Daniel Hill to chase; he then beat two defenders before pulling the ball back to JOEL BADDAMS who made no mistake from 10 yards. Unfortunately as soon as we took the lead we seemed to take our foot off the gas and Sedgefield soon started to press us back. The away side managed to grab an equaliser in the 11th minute when Keith Lines gave the ball away in the middle of the park, the Sedgefield midfielder took advantage of the mistake, running on to the ball before beating three players then slotting the ball past Witherspoon. Credit to the Sedgefield player for a brilliant solo effort. The away side then extended their lead only 3 minutes later when a long ball over the top caught us out, the team appealed for offside but nothing given and the centre forward made no mistake placing the ball in the corner of the net. The away side continued to have a lot of the possession, passing the ball around the middle of the park but didn’t really provide any threat to the home goal. The home side did have a few chances themselves, Jamie Seymour had a fine effort which struck the cross bar and Daniel Hill also had a one on one which he would normally score but unfortunately put it agonisingly wide. The Plough Inn were then dealt a killer blow in the 40th minute when Sedgefield were awarded a free kick just inside our half. The ball was floated in the area which was knocked down for the striker to fire home from ten yards whilst we all stood watching. H/T 1-3 Joel Baddams had a great chance to get us back into the game when the two goal hero was put clear by Michael Dawson but unfortunately shot straight at the away goalkeeper. The game was then put beyond The Plough Inns reach when Sedgefield scored again. The Plough did manage to pull a goal back only five minutes later when Jamie Seymour broke down the right and crossed for JOEL BADDAMS to finish superbly from 15 yards. The remainder of the game The Plough continued to enjoy plenty of possession but didn’t really create many chances as our final ball into the area was pretty poor. Joel Baddams had a header which hit the bar late on but other than that the away side dealt with any threats. F/T 2-4

In the Third Division Sedgefield Net Park made the Long Journey to Pelaw to play the Grange Dogs.Pelaw Grange Dogs FC 5 Sedgefield Net Park Fc 3This was a really entertaining match considering Pelaw Grange Dogs Fc only had 11 players due to 7 others been out injured or away. The match started briskly with Sedgefield having the first attack on goal but within minutes found themselves 1 nil down from a goal from Pelaw grange Dogs David Fleming who having only touched the ball twice and playing his first ever 11 aside game had put the ball passed the Sedgefield keeper. Mark Stevenson then scored a neat goal before Eddy Quinn of the Pelaw Grange Dogs score a real screamer from about 35 meters. Sedgefield then pulled one back and this was all in the first 20 minutes. The game then settled down with some good play by both sides. Sedgefield then pulled another one back from a free kick but after the interval Pelaw Grange Dogs first made it 4-2 with another goal from Mark Stevenson and then another from Eddy Quinn before Sedgefield pulled one back from the penalty spot to make it 5-3 to Pelaw Grange Dogs FC.             In the Fourth Division Chester Easy Street dropped their first points of the season in a tame 1-1 draw at New Durham wmc . Despite dominating possession for the majority of the game, chances were few and far between. New Durham found themselves 1-0 up midway through the 1st half courtesy of a mix-up between defender and goalkeeper allowing the opposition striker to poke the ball home. Easy Street tried to respond but the closest they came was to rattle the bar from a free kick from Craig Mickle. Craig Evans levelled the score line with a close range header from a corner and despite a late penalty appeal, neither team were able to find the winning goal. Chester Leonard’s Travelled to Quarrington Hill Wmc Another mediocre performance by the Leonard’s resulting in a 5 - 2 defeat. Alarm bells are ringing at Chester Leonard’s with manager Peter Newell threatening wholesale changes for the next game. Competitive midfield action was overshadowed by shocking defending and a lack of any meaningful attacking play. The return of missing players needs to result in significantly improved organisation and a return to basics. The manager is definitely looking for a win in the next fixture. The first Chester Leonard’s goal was scored from Zak Scott. A free kick was awarded on the left hand side of the 18 yard box and Scott stepped up to curl an audacious right footed effort past the 'keeper. Scott was involved in the second Leonard's goal too as a short corner was played to new signing Kevin Crawley. He took a touch before driving it into the back of the net via a deflection. Kelloe Davy Lamp were 5-3 winners at Durham Garden House, Ferryhill White Horse and visitors Framwellgate Moor Wmc shared the Points in a 3-3 Draw.
