In the Premier Division Leaders Hetton Lyons Cricket
Club had a Comfortable 5-1 win at Pelton Roab Fc.A
Battling performance from Pelton who, took the lead
after 9 minutes when Ryan Drummond fired Home ,but
then seemed to stop playing short sharp football,
conceded bad goals again but against a very strong
lyons side.
Mention for the ref aswell Colin Piggott, had a very good game, for 68 year old he's fitter than quite a few refs in Football at the Moment.After having no game for 2 weeks Sacriston Cricket Club entertained Burnmoor Cricket Club. Sacriston dominated possession in the first half and created several chances but could not score. John Renwick hit the crossbar with a right footed cross from the left and Graeme Embleton had a free kick brilliantly tipped over the bar by the Burnmoor goalkeeper, these were our closest efforts at goal. Burnmoor Took the Lead on 47 minsA well delivered through-ball from luke charlsworth was converted by jon caris. A first-class finish with the right foot from 18 yards out. After some close efforts Sacriston Levelled the scores with 13 mins to go when Collinson's cross from the right to the back post teased the goalkeeper into coming for the ball who missed it and allowed Gary Draper an easy finish. Final score 1-1.Sedgefield St Edmunds were 5-0 winners at Houghton Glendale and Brandon Bay Horse were 8-0 Home winners Over vistors Burnside Wmc.
In the First Division Goals from Ross Watson and Chris Duke gave Chester Hilda Park a 2-2 Draw with visitors Gilesgate Moor Hotel, Washington JFC were 2-1 Home winners Over Birtley Board Inn.
In the Only Game In the second Division Pelton Fc were 7-2 winners over visitors West Rainton Fc. In the Third Division Low Fell Gold Medal were 5-2 winners at Bowburn Cooperage and Framwellgate Moor Salutation and visitors Ferryhill Dynamoes shared the Points in a 0-0 draw.
In the Fourth Divison Ferryhill White Horse were 4-0 Home winners over the Kelloe Davy Lamp and Quarrington Hill Wmc were 4-2 winners at Langley Park Rams Head Steelers FC ran out 3-1 winners away to Sedgefield Netpark in the second round of the Spennymoor Town Fc league cup. Goals from Clifford (Stephen), Race and Bowes sealed the tie for the visitors. The Steelers captain - Kieron Moralee received the MOM award.
In the Deerness Driveways Presidents Trophy 1st round. Pelaw Grange Dogs FC 1 vs Chester Plough Inn FC 3This cup game saw Chester Plough make most of the running in the first half with the Pelaw forwards struggling a well rehearsed offside trap. After 20 minutes Chester took the lead and a further 10 minutes later added a second to make it 2 nil at half time.A good team talk to make the Pelaw Grange Dogs Players close the Chester players down more seemed to have worked and Eddy Quinn lobbed the Chester goalkeeper to make it 2-1. Chester's offside trap was now been exploited and Chris Hawkins of the Dogs was clean through on goal with only the keeper to beat but a call for offside seemed to put him off and he shot straight at the advancing keeper. Chester then went straight up the opposite end and scored to make it 3-1. Pelaw still looked the more likely to score but with some young players on and missing two of there normal forwards couldn't manage to penetrate the Chester defence.Chester Osborne entertained Witton Gilbert Club in the Deerness Driveways Presidents Trophy.The Osborne Winning10 – 0 with a goal from Paul 'windows' Haggan, one from chrissy bennett, 2 from man of the match chris winn and a hatrick each for Wes Hood and Chris Days.
