The Adverse weather Conditions played Havoc again
with the Leagues Fixture List, from the 30 scheduled
games only 8 survived.
The Only Game in the premier Division was a rearranged fixture at Sedge field St Edmunds, the Home side sedegefield entertaining visitors Langley Park Wmc, and it was the Visitors Langley Park WMC who took an early lead with a penalty scored after 25 mines. On a perfect pitch despite recent weather conditions, St Edmund equalized with a strike from John Cook. Further goals in the second half by Cook, after 55 minutes, Flockett 2, after 58 and 65 minutes and a further goal by Cook in the 70th minute completed his hat trick and gave Sedgefield a 5 - 1 win!!
In the Third Divison Derby game west Rainton Fc entertained neigboughs East Rainton Travelers Rest at the Adventure Park West Rainton in a very entertaining game both teams shared the points in a 5-5 Draw, Mark Wild 2, Ian Brown, Andy Ward, and Dave Dawson for the Home side.Washington Nissan Sports Travelled to Oxclose Ox and Plough Inn a single away gaol gave them the three Points.
In the Alan Smith Memoial Trophy 1st Round Sacriston Cw were 3-2 winners at Ferryhill Surtess
This first round cup match in the JD’S Taxis Trophy was switched to Bishop Middleham as Peltons ground was waterlogged. Not the best start again by the Pelton Bird inn who found themselves 1-0 down in the opening 5 mins, Bishop Middlehams captain James Hampson scoring . Middleham then furthered there lead with a thirty minute strike from Lee Jennings. .A better second half saw chances fall to Pelton Bird Inns Neil Tiffen but he couldn’t put them away and in the last 5 mins centre half Stephen Raine gave away a penalty which Christopher Moddy put away to end the game 3-0 to Bishop Middleham.In the other game to survive Quebec Steelers were 1-0 winners at Kelloe Davy Lamp.
In the NTL Transport Trophy 1st Round Two goals apiece from Ritchie Lowthian and Jamie Sherriff and a fine effort from Andrew Cameron saw the Duke of Albany through to the 2nd round of the NTL Transport League Cup. A goal scored from the penalty spot for Durham Bede Lodge had drawn them level but was not enough to keep them in the game as the Duke of Albany won 5-1.
Houghton Chilton Lodge progressed to the second round of the Deerness Driveways Presidents Cup. After a poor Chilton Lodge went in at half time 2-0 up against Quarrington Hill wmc, thanks to goals from Iain Macpherson and Mick Verinder and a penalty save from Neil Jackson. Quarrington Hill pulled a goal back early in the second half before, man of the match, Graeme Defty ended the game as a contest with a close range finish to make the final score 3-1.

The weather put paid to many fixtures In the League
with Sunderland Council Closing all Pitches, this
caused a Lot of postponements.
In the Premier League Burnside Travelled to Brandon Bay Horse and were beaten 3-2 by the inform Bay Horse Side, Kelloe wmc were 4-2 Winners at the Struggling Fatfield Biddick Inn, Langley Park Wmc Trvelled to Newton Aycliffe wmc and shared the Points in a 1-1 Draw.
Hetton Lyons C.C.The Champions were stunned on Thursday night by an energetic Burnside display that consigned Hetton to an early League defeat, Burnside were on the backfoot early on with Clarke, Canavan and Graydon going close but they regained their composure to go ahead after 20 minutes when cummings broke through and lobbed Finch, they went further ahead 10 mins later with Jarvis volleying home and then Laidler headed past Finch to make it 3-0 the Lyons rallied and pulled one back albeit an own goal to end the half 3-1 down, in the second half Clarke pulled the deficit to just one and as Hetton bombarded the Burnside goal a smart counter attack made the game safe for the newly promoted side when Cumming scored again, to compound the Lyons evening veteran Club Captain Matthew Taylor was dismissed for abusive language, a bitter pill to swallow but Lyons captain Ainsley said " in this league you cant give anyone a three goal start and we were punished for it, they played well and deserve the credit".

Hetton Lyons took all the points in this encounter at Eppleton their first of the season, Assistant manager Jason Ainsley dropped himself for the game and later explained his decision " I thought we needed younger legs in their after Thursday night" Hetton scored in the 10 minute, Jamie Clarke ran onto a Hyson pass and blasted home, it was what the Lyons team needed but they failed to capitalise on it and found themselves level inside 25 mins a backpost Cornell shot sneaked inside Finch's near post helped by a Mason deflection. Clarke restored the Lyons lead scoring his fifth of the season just before the break. The weather hotted up during the morning as did the game it was soon 3-1 debutant David Gordon showed great technique to crash home a Ben Ryan centre, but again Pelton dragged themselves to within one goal Luke Kerry the scorer, but not to be undone again the Lyons ended on top with a Craig Mason strike in the last 10 mins. Ainsley added " we needed more and at times today we delivered, but we know that we are better than this, in the second half we should've scored more" Ainsley wasnt the only change out went Ryan, Taylor, Brightwell with Pearson, Walklate and Gordon coming in, the Lyons injury list is now longer with Gavin Cogdon joining Johnston, Allen, Hinton, Toft, Capper and Watson all out till September or worse...

In the JD Taxis Cup Prelimanry RoundTwo Gaols from Karl Hutchinson and one each from Gary Curry and Frank Murray gave Sherburn Lambton Arms a 4-2 Home win over the Glenndenning Arms, a Hat Trick from Jack Moore plus two from Joe Simpson gave Shadforth Plough Inn a 5-2 Home win over Washington Nissan Sports Club, One each from Jeff Dean ,Jamie Mathews and Gary Walker gave Quarrington Hill Wmc a 3-1 Home win Over AFC Newton Hall , a Fine Strike from Nick Barker the Only goal of the game gave Durham Bede Lodge a 1-0 away win at Chester Hilda Park.A goal each from Andrew Thompson.,ndy Bell and Ian Fairless gave Kelloe Davy Lamp a 3-1 Home win Over Pittington Fc.
