It has been bought to the attention of the League that there are clubs that have not informed the League of change of details. The most important change of details are the secretaries contact telephone number. Clubs are reminded that they must inform the League of any change of details immediately thus avoiding unnecessary inconvenience to other clubs when they need to confirm their fixtures.
 
 
Confirming Fixtures - Can we remind clubs that fixtures should be confirmed with the referee and opposition not later than five days before the match (confirmation means speaking to them/receiving acknowledgement). If referees or clubs do not receive confirmation in time, then please report the miscreant club to the appropriate referees/league match secretary, and we'll levy fines, or for repeated offenders consider withdrawing referees or fixtures.
 
No Jewellery  - Clubs and referees are reminded that Law 4 of the Laws of the Game was amended in 2006-07 and states that "A player must not use equipment or wear anything which is dangerous to himself or another player (including any kind of jewellery)".
There is one exception:- "A player, who can satisfy the referee prior to the game that their plain wedding band is unable to be removed, will be allowed to cover it with tape. (This only applies to a plain wedding band and no other type of jewellery).
Players should be clear that these items are their responsibility - it is not the referee's responsibility to provide tape to cover  a wedding ring! Players are expected to ensure their equipment is safe when they step on the field, and the referee is simply there to police this.
 
Looking After Your Visitors - Can we remind clubs of the club guidance notes. In particular the need to greet them, make sure they know of arrangements, providing the referee with match balls and offering his/her match-fee prior to kick off.
Over the coming weeks we'll be asking referees/clubs to make sure they report home clubs who aren't following the rules.
Clubs - Looking After Your Visitors
·         Check the match balls, pitch, nets, goalposts and corner flags before the game, not just before kick off when it's too late to fix any problems..
·         Ensure you meet the referee when he/she arrives. Offer him/her the match ball and his/her match fee before the game, and make sure he/she knows where to change, where the pitch is and any hospitality arrangements afterwards
·         Ensure the opposition have arrived, know where to change and where the pitch is, and that there are no colour clashes (teams do turn up with different coloured kits than they’re supposed to).
·         Ensure your team, the referee and the opposition are aware of arrangements for valuables (generally they’re safest on the pitch, with the goalkeeper).
·         At half time, make sure you offer refreshments to the referee.
·         After the game, make sure you remind the referee and the away team of the hospitality details, or accept their hospitality if you are the away team.

REFEREE ABUSE
There has been a noticeable increase with regards to the abuse that the league referees have been getting and this could result in referees no longer officiating within the DADSFL. This is totally unacceptable behaviour, either on or away from the pitch.

All players and team officials need to be aware that anyone reported for such behaviour will be severely dealt with under league rules.

We do not have the luxury of a large number of referees within our league. Losing referees will only affect the number of games having an official appointed to thegame. Teams reported for not treating referees with the respect they deserve will be the first to not get a referee when we do not have enough to cover the game. Please respect the referees. Without them you will not get the game you deserve.

RUBBISH LEFT AT THE SIDE OF PITCHES.
This subject has also been raised before. The League has had complaints regarding the rubbish that is left at pitches at the end of games. Should this continue some facilities may be removed. We have also previously had complaints from Differnt Councils concerning litter such as plastic bottles, used plastic tape tie-ups and worst of all, a blood stained bandage being left behind in previous seasons. We would therefore be grateful if teams can get into the habit of bringing a plastic bag with them to matches and appointing a designated person each week to pick up the litter from their touchline and take it to a designated waste bin at the venue. You would not wish to play on a pitch where the previous team’s rubbish is in your standing area. .
 
PARKING,
This subject has been raised before, but the League need to remind players and supporters to please park responsibility at all venues,Some cars have parked in front of entry/exits which could prevent or delay an ambulance reaching a pitch in an emergency.

I will be issuing each Club with thier own User Name and Log In in the next three weeks.

League Meetings.
The league will only be holding three more meetings this season; in November  , March (next seasons Durham Affiliations Due at this Meeting), and the AGM in June, because of this all league business will be conducted in correspondence and via the website. It is very important that all clubs get access to the website to keep in touch with what is going on. All clubs are supplied with an email address so if you do not have access to email and the website, please appoint someone responsible for accessing the club mails and checking the website for details and changes to Clubs and Referees.

The League Management Committee will meet each Month Clubs unless invited to attend do not attend.

Fixtures
Fixtures will be supplied by email and amendments, due to County or other Cups competitions, will be emailed out as they happen so please check you email regularly. It will be worthwhile crosschecking the website weekly before contacting your match referees as they do change daily.

Clubs Must have an Up to date e-mail adress were Fixtures can be sent to.
All clubs to Forward the Correct e-mail address to the League secretary where all Club e-mails to be sent to, again this is very Important  as all future League Correspondance will come to this address.

The Website.
 On the website, along with club, referee and fixture details, all County Suspensions are listed that affect players in this league.
 There is the online match return system where all clubs are responsible for inputting the match results (This will start for all Clubs On  October 1st when all Club details for the Current season must be brought up to date and who played), more about that later.
This will allow the Club Secretary to input the Following

• Confirm the Result of the Game
• Add all Red and Yellow Cards for the Game (This will be cross checked with the D.F.A)
• Add the Referee's Name (as sometimes this Changes so from the Drop down list you can confirm the Refs name and add his Mark)
• On the Match Returns complete all players who played in the Game, including goals, red and Yellow Cards, Man of the Match.

This is a very easy system to use and it will keep your Club details on the site up-to-date .
 
A Results Matrix can be found to quickly cross check results.(Clubs Must check this to make shure thier records are Correct)
 A list of the goals scorers by division. (These will be kept up to date only by the match return system when the result are entered). 
 The league’s weekly News Report is there before it is published in the Press.
 On the website there is a new section called Documents. It contains all the league forms and up to date Cup Draws also copies of League Fixtures. All can be printed off as you require them.
 There is a page of all league Management members with their photos and contact details.
 The Club pages section contains all the details of each club including a list of all their players and Statistics as well as a map with directions to the club’s home ground. (Changes to the Club Secrtary Must be reported to the League so the site can be updated)
The league table is also linked to the Match return system so as you enter the result the table is updated. I will be posting in the document pages a copy of the results and tables for you to print off if you require them.

The Association is carrying out a review with all Members regarding the loss of playing facilities and I would be obliged if you could take the time to read the following questions and provide me with a response in writing, should you be aware of such grounds and this is very important to all who participate in football.
 
1.       Are you aware of any sites that once were Home Venues for Clubs but are now not available, overgrown? 
2.       Are you aware of any ex-works site (Sports & Social Clubs) which used to be available and are now not?
3.       Are you aware of any School facilities that were available and have now been removed?

Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

PLAYER TRANSFER DEADLINE SATURDAY 31st March
Clubs and players are reminded that the deadline for transfers and registrations is  the 31st March except by special permission of the Management Committee.
A player may not be registered for a Club after 31 st March except by special permission of The Management Committee..

Next Season
13. (A) After 31st December in the current Season a Club intending, or having provisional intention, to withdraw a team from the Competition on completion of its fixtures and fulfilment of all other obligations to the Competition must notify the League Secretary in writing by 31st March each Season or be liable to a fine. All clubs wishing to remain in membership of the Competition for the following Season must confirm their intention to do so, in writing to the  League Secretary by the last Sunday in April.

There will be no exceptions this season - no letter = no team !!

League Dinner
League Presentation Dinner would be at the Ramside Hall Hotel on Sunday 14th June 2009.
