In Division One Houghton Mill All Stars had an excellent 3-1 away win at Sacriston WMC.
Mill took the lead after thirty five minutes when Steven Ashman'sinswinging cross deceived keeper Hassan and landed in the back of the net.
Asquith equalised for Sacriston ten minutes into the second half. Mill then went 2-1 ahead when a Chris Rogerson tackle set up Nick Thompson to run fifty yards with the ball into the opposing penalty box before shooting past the oncoming keeper. Man of the match Steve Malloy dribbled past four Sacriston defenders before shooting at the Sacriston keeper who couldn't help but parry the ball to a waiting Gary Adey who showed neat control before hammering the ball home to seal all three points for Mill. Also in Division 1 Lumley Fc entertained Waterhouses Fc Looking to overturn the early season defeat to Waterhouses Fc and it was mission accomplished with a 6-1 victory. James Laidler opened the scoring after 6 minutes, and then Niki Robson doubled the lead with a fine 20 yard volley. Laidler went on to complete his half hatrick which gave Lumley a 4-0 half time lead. In the second half Laidler made it 5-0 before waterhouses scored what was to be a consolation. Before the full time whistle Laidler rounded up his Man of the Match performance with his fifth & making the full time score an impressive 6-1 Lumley victory.
In the Second Division Durham Bede Lodge were 5-3 winners at Pittington Fc. In the Third Division Hamsteels Inn and Visitors Bowburn Cooperage Shared the Points in a 3-3 Draw.
In the Fourth Division Chester Easy Street were 5-1 Winners at Handenhold Bird Inn, A more confident looking Chester Leonard’s fc walked on to the field this morning with a big point to prove at the Oxclose Ox and Plough Inn Fc . They got off to a fine start playing the ball smoothly round the pitch. Nichol had broke down the right hand side an played a well weighted ball to Brennan who was chopped Down in the penalty area. Clarkson stepped up and converted but due to an infringement retook and calmly placed bottom right giving the Ox and Plough keeper no chance. A slight misunderstanding in the Leonard’s Fc defence saw Ox and Plough Level the scores.
