Affiliated players and referees are reminded that
the Durham CountyFootball Association has a
Benevolent Fund.
This fund provides members of the Durham County FA with financial assistance when they fall on hard times having sustained injuries participating in affiliated football.
The fund is governed by Trustees and has strict criteria which includes all claims must be received within one month of injury.
If you wish to make a claim you should contact the County office for an application form.

Insurance
As you are aware, all clubs that affiliate to Durham County Football Association are provided, as part of the affiliation process, with Public Liability Insurance. The Durham County FA Ltd has dealt with COBRA Corporate Solutions Limited for several years and has found the service provided to be both professional and efficient. The Association provides player to player cover for up to £5,000,000 and this provides peace of mind for all members who are part of the scheme. Any claims are dealt with immediately and take away the added pressure claims can cause. Please note that it is important that all members of your club, particularly the players, familiarise themselves with the scope of the policy. A copy of the policy wording is available attached to this Page.
Significant Features, Benefits and Exclusions: Although we would recommend that the policy wording is read in full, we can summarise the significant features and benefits as follows: The significant Features and Benefits of this Policy are: Limit of Indemnity £5,000,000 any one occurrenceq q Liability of Player-to-Player extension, available subject to the payment of the appropriate additional premium (optional) Liability of Member-to-Memberq extension (automatically included) Liability arising out of the ownershipq or operation of premises, including changing rooms Liability arising outq of the use of premises hired, leased or rented Liability arising out ofq the provision of first aid or emergency assistance Liability arising outq of fundraising activities and tournaments involving up to 1,000 persons Liability arising out of the use of motor vehicles not licensed for road use (e.g. ride on mowers) Liability arising out of the operation of car parksq The significant Exclusions and Limitations to the Policy are: £100 excess in respect of damage to third party propertyq Hazardous fund raising activitiesq Contract Playersq Employersq Liability Deliberate Actsq Disqualified or Suspended Playersq We would advise all clubs to make a copy of this letter, and the policy wording, available to their players.
