If you are a new team or an established Team looking to join the North East’s most competitive Sunday morning league, the Swinburne Maddison Durham Sunday Football League is by invitation only. All potential new teams will need to meet for an interview with the league management committee to discuss their inclusion to the league. Before this all prospective clubs would need to affiliate themselves to Durham County Football Association in order to play in sanctioned competitions and this ensures the club is within the FA structures of football. Affiliation takes place pre-season and must be done on a yearly basis.
The FA has introduced a rule making it mandatory for Adult 11-a-side teams to also have Personal Accident insurance in place for the whole of the Season. Public Liability insurance is also mandatory and all clubs should carry an indemnity limit of no less than £10,000,000 for any one occurrence. More information on the Durham County Football Association website. If you would like your team to express an interest to join the Swinburne Maddison Durham Sunday Football League then you will need to contact the League Secretary Graham Lilley on firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a meeting.
IF YOU ARE PLAYER LOOKING TO JOIN A TEAM
Many players email me asking "how do I join a team". The best way option is to be more pro-active and visit each divisional page of the website and click the club contact information link and contact the club secretary directly yourself. Bear in mind that there is a cut off point for players being able to join teams and this is usually in March. After this point you will not have your player registration form sanctioned by the league. The same will apply if you have previously played in the league where your club still has unpaid fines or fees.
IF YOU ARE A REFEREE WANTING TO OFFICIATE FOR US
We have great referees within our league and are always on the lookout for more, whether experienced or just starting out. All of our referees are full qualified and registered with the appropriate official authorities and we will not take on referees who do not have these requirements. If you would like to offer your services then contact the Referees Secretary Chris Tindale. email@example.com.For more information on how to become a referee or for the relevant bodies to contact for courses and qualification requirements then Contact Jeff Russell at Durham Football Association. –Jeff.Russell@DurhamFA.com
IF YOU WANT TO ADVERTISE 0R SPONSOR
We are always looking for sponsors and advertisers for our league and website. We rank very highly on Google and our website has over 12,000 visitors every month, which is incredibly high for a Sunday Football League website. Then you will need to contact the League Secretary Graham Lilley on firstname.lastname@example.org
